  1. I guess I should be a republican to like old trucks. I got three negatives in my reputation for not liking the Bushes. How about we stick to old trucks and leave the politics to the politicians? Michael Yarnall
  2. We had 2 bushes first.
  3. If the truck was as nice as it looks it is well worth paying $57,000 for a truck instead of putting $100,000 into restoring a truck. He got half off. When Nelson Barber sold his AC pumper for $80,000 privately he thought he sold it too cheap and the guy who bought it wouldn't sell it for $120,000 now. These trucks are rare and that makes them even more valuable. We are not talking about a 1960's Ford chassied Pierce. Mike
  4. Is anyone coming to Macungie from New England with room on their trailer? I bought the Autocar DC75T advertised in Double Clutch and need to get it to Pennsylvania. It is in Naugatuck, CT. If you have room or know of someone that does please give me a call and let me know what it would cost me. Thanks, Mike Yarnall 610 764 8283
  5. It's been raining the whole time out here in South Bend. It reminds me of the mud fest at Macungie 2 years ago. I drove my 1973 Transtar with and PA Antique license. I was pulled over by a state cop in Indiana while looking at my toll ticket. He thought I was texting. Then he said I didn't have on a seat belt. When I pointed out my lap belt he said I needed a shoulder belt in Indiana. He took my license and came back saying I did not need a shoulder belt and wished me a good trip. I don't have a CDL, but he did not say anything about that. My father drove his superliner with a B85 tractor and IH R190 on the trailer and did not get a second look. I wouldn't worry about driving to macungie. Trucks keep coming in here. There are a good number of Macks, but many more Kenworths and Petes then I'm used to seeing. Hopefully the rain will stop tomorrow. Mike
  6. I'll be there with a few macks and some other trucks. I'll bring my 85 MH 612. If you are coming from the south you can wash your truck at my house. I live 18 miles south of macungie, just off of PA 100. Just arrived in South Bend with 2 Macks and 2 IH's. Mike
  7. I have all of these things. You can call me at 610 764 8283 Mike
  8. Sounds good. I'm available the morning of the 12th, but have to work at noon. Let me know. Mike
  9. I've been looking on the site for several weeks now and have really enjoyed it. My father and I have several Macks, some nice and some not so nice, but we love them all the same. It is interesting to see the way the Macks are set up in different parts of the country. I have become addicted to the site, but is much better than my previous addiction to the fire trucks on Ebay. I could do without the politics though. I love talking trucks and if anyone is in the area and wants see my junk let me know. I live in Boyertown. I like other brands of old trucks too. I tried to post some pictures, but it would not let me. Michael Yarnall 610 764 8283
  10. I don't run an oil filter in my 47 ls85. The filter is not full flow. There is only a little tube feeding into it. I was unable to find them two years ago. Cal Little said it was not a concern since it will not be driven very far. Mike
  11. If you are not looking for a Mack, Cal Little has a cab forward that is pretty nice. I believe it is a Crown, but not certain about that. I think the price was $20,000. I have IH V190 semi open cab with a pirsche 85 arial that I would sell. It would need paint and the hydraulic brakes done, but it runs and drives. It is inside now, but has very faded paint and a little rust. It is from Reading PA. Mike
  12. Wayne King in Ontario has a B85 tiller for sale. It is completely redone(repowered with diesel I believe, newer ladder). He wants a lot for it. Maybe $100,000, but I don't remember. I have one that could be put together, but would need a lot of work. Probably much more than anyone is interested. It is a B85 from lowell mass. The ladder is a 1941 ALF with a wooden ladder which was from Harrisburg, PA. It would probably need a new ladder. I father has the tractor which is nice, but not for sale. If Wayne Kings is in your price range let me know and I can give him your number. Mike
  13. I am having a Mack Lanova Diesel rebuilt from a 1950 LFT. The heads are cracked and I have a second set of heads, but they are different angles and I do not have enough good valves for either set. Does any one have a source for valves? They have the 45 degree seat. Parts numbers 690GC291 inlet and 688GC2180 exhaust. I tried John Chalmers, but did not get an answer. Watts does not have them. Mechanic has found them at $85 each. I need eight so $680 plus shipping. Maybe I should just buck up and buy them. Sorry guys, I bought the truck apart so I do not have any good pictures. Thanks, Michael Yarnall
  14. Doug, It looks great. Is it as nice as the pictures? I am very jealous. I need to get a nice B model. Michael Yarnall
  15. Nice truck. If that is the R700 that Cliff bought at Macungie a few years ago is was a Doehler truck from Pottstown, PA. I believe it is a 1972 and Doehler bought it new. Harold Reinert bought several of their trucks in the 1980's. He sold this one to Henry Bealer of Pottstown who used it to pull a lowboy and a cat loader for his excavating business. He used it for quite a few years before selling it to an excavator in Parkerford, PA. That guy only had it about 4 years until he sold it to Cliff at Macungie about 4 or 5 years ago. As far as I know it was the original V8 when Cliff got it. It had some engine trouble when Cliff got it, but I think he fixed it and did not replace it. On a different note, I am really jealous about Doug's new B model. Michael Yarnall
  16. George, I am going to have Cal Little rebuild the carb off my 85LS 1101. For the moment we have the carb off of a newer 707 from a B85 on it. It runs great. The only problem is it has both governors on which makes it so hight it rubs on the underside of the hood. On another note, my computer is still not working so I cannot send pictures of the ford pickup. Michael Yarnall
  17. Welcome to the forum. Hope you and your family were not affected by the earthquake. I spent 2 weeks in Rotorua last October and had a great time. I went to the technology museum in Aukland and was impressed with their collection. I tried unsuccessfully to get them to show me the trucks that were not on exhibit. Enjoy the rest of your summer. It was zero degrees F here this morning. Mike
  18. That is quite a monster. What parts are you looking for? I guy near me bought a lot of F model parts at an auction last year, but they are not for heavy duty trucks. I wouldn't want to pay shipping from the US to Norway. Michael
  19. It came with a 673 with a turbo, but that engine is gone. It has a naturally aspirated 673 now. I do not know what the diesel engine options were.
  20. Smith's closed down this past spring and sold all their inventory at auction this fall. They did not have any H model parts worth speaking of. I bought some air starters, but someone took them. I did get a lot of F model parts. I had bought the F and MH below from them earlier. That is my father's superliner next to them. I also got an LFT from smiths.
