memory serves me correctly; the RD was available with steel nose/fender configuration.
Yeah the RD was available in fiberglas hood or steel hood. Terry

Pictures great. I wouldn't switch to a 2 stick, those are geared for the Maxidyne engines, which would be either an EM6 or an EM7. The maxidynes have an 800+ rpm power and, in which they make 90%+ torque from 1000-1200 all the way up to the governor. An E7-400 is nice but it doesn't have the broad powerband. Also the 2 sticks aren't designed for THAT much torque. Plus you'd be looking at having to replace the driveshaft due to different length transmission. And cutting holes in your floor for the shifters.
Have to agree about the torque band comment, but that six speed can handle way more torque than that 400 can put out, how about all them high horse V8 engines with the 12 speed, same triple countershaft design. Terry

My Brother was fortunate enough to survive Viet Nam. upsetting me the fact Viet Nam was never a war ; it didn't meet the requirements of a war !!!! it was a conflict. are you fu--in kidding me over 58 thousand died and are still dying and suffering and it didn't meet the requirements. don't want to take a positive topic and turn it negative, just upsetting when military service people are turned in to pawns for a few who think its a game.
Served “69” in V.N. Terrible, terrible waste of young men over there, for absolutely nothing! Of course seems that’s the way all our conflicts go lately Terry

Got around to pulling my heads. Appears to have small crack fro injector to intake valve on a couple cylinders and number 4 liner is cracked at the top pretty bad. Are these EM6-285’s wet or dry liners? Any help is much appreciated
Should be a dry liner, i believe the E7 was the start of a wet liner. terry

I`m looking to remove the spoke hub grease caps without denting them...and without buying an $80 pr of pliers.I`m wondering if a strap type oil filter wrench would get it moving enough to get something behind it to pry it off?
Are you sure them don't screw on ? terry

I was a owner/driver a mack dump for 30 plus years, the wheel dolly was the best investment for pulling duals, nothing to it for one man, and alot easier to align the inner bearing on the spindle, and not hitting new wheel seal. terry

So, I’m gonna tackle the rear inner wheel seal soon. I’m gonna pull the wheels, then, I’m gonna pull the spider, right? Then I can slide the drum off? Just making sure I have a decent plan before I go ahead.
Also, how do I get grease into these front wheel bearings? This is the old grease cap, right? Do these covers unscrew?
Anyone going to the truck show in Bolton, MA this weekend?
I do believe they are a screw on cap, terry

Have an E6 2v head I believe has a head gasket leaking compression into the coolant system. I might have access to some 4 valve heads. Could a person put 4 valve heads on my old 2 valve engine? If it’s going to have the heads off anyway I was curious of the differences. Thank you all in advance.
Probably depends if the 4 valve heads are for a E6 or E7 engine. terry

Excellent glad to hear. Where would I look for a number for both Mac bogeys?
Best thing is to pull one wheel and cross the existingnseal to see what matches up, terry

They will wheel hop in loose sand and do all kinds of things trying to get traction. terry

Pretty straight old steel dash truck, interior looks real clean, six speed or triplex or quad? terry

I'll bet the only difference on the injectors is the snap pressure. terry

I was thinking the same thing. It was definitely to the gauge, but I don’t think this is the correct spot, though I’m not entirely sure it’s a return line, just a guess. It’s got plenty of pressure at it that’s for sure. I don’t see where the oil would be feeding into the turbo other than that line, so maybe a feed?
Should be a oil inlet and oil drain on the turbo center section, unless the center section has been turned upside down, feed was on top and drain on the bottom going to side cover on the block, oil feed i believe was off a fitting on top of head. terry

Went to the oil pressure gauge it looks like. Removing the line off big red now.
I wouldn't think a gauge would be on a return line? terry
