I’ll bet the K is for glider kit, put all your own running gear in it. Terry

The water sensor is on the back of water manifold towards firewall, and I believe oil sensor or fitting is above screw on oil filters. Terry

Looks like a RS model, maybe the F is a misstamped R 🤷♀️ But it seems like I have seen some RS models with that dark interior. Terry

possible a glider kit with numbers hand stamped. even the distance between figures looks spread.
But didn't glider kits come stamped with a K in the seriel number? terry

I wouldn't think a '71 would have that dash either. No matter, pretty nice looking truck. ( actually both are )
They used the steel dash up to 72 or early 73. terry

I don't know for sure, but it seems like the first puff limiters were not connected to the trans? terry

Were early puff limiters no connected to the transmission? Terry

My guess would be the rear suspension, very soft and leans real easy,ok for a hobby truck, but the rest don’t look to bad. Terry

Haha everything seems to be a little easier if you have help last time, I changed it. I put a brand new one in. I was only 38. It was a little bit easier then but I still struggled with it by myself.
Yeah I have done it by myself too. Not no more, my skin has gotten so thin just a nick and I bleed all over, I sold my truck, but the last starter I put in I had blood dripping everywhere! Terry

Good luck if it’s anything like my DM, I can’t get to the starter from the floorboard or the firewall. It’s a real bear. Bob
Two people, one with a rope around starter from the top, and one leaning over left steer tire to guide in, Terry

That real hard bolt to reach, replace it with a 12 point head bolt, makes it easier. Terry

Something really funky on that fan shroud, could it been that high for a Cummins engine? Terry

Cool! Does it run and operate ok? terry

Probably different offset on the rims, and yes I have seen that on a lot of DM’s with that tire rubbing. There are relief valves in the steering box and stops on the spindles, maybe the truck when new was set up with narrower front tires, and now the wider ones rub.🤷♀️. Terry

in Engine and Transmission

If you go from a gas truck and put a diesel in it you’ll have to change rears, gas rears are geared to low. Terry
