  3. Fxfymn They never had one that I can remember, but one at the firehouse would be a good fund raiser, supply the hose and get a donation. Well be down on Thru morn, I set up right next to the fri night cookout about 100 ft from you looking forword to talking shop to you again . Angelo
  4. Your going to do WHAT with this Mack ! Oboy here it comes !
  5. Ok Randy I am inpressed as I need to do the same, we can talk about it over cake and ice cream in two weeks. Now are you willing to put a Detriot in the FWD, that would be something seeing that big smile on your face when you pull in !
  6. Just use the outriggering system that used for raising the ladder. place heavy blocks under the pads so you have lift of the tractor then manually lift the trailer up so you can start to disconeck the bolts and the wires that go to all the lights that are in the turntable [ or 5th wheel ] plus the ground strap. When free from the turntable [but still under the trailer] then add more support to the main rails of the trailer. Lift it just enough to clear .
  7. This is what I have on filters right from the Mack spc sheet. oilfilter-485GB, oil filter cartridge 236GB, Oil filter 477GB , that's from the chart, no names or other info for a 707C . Will bring all I have to Macungie for my Mack, same as yours. 10x20 Tent set up right next to Fridays nights cook out . have a few beers and go over what I have
  8. L Model Mack early 40's till 1953 looks like a LJ with the running boards.
  9. Top speed for me was 67 , but never again 59 60 on open road no hills was fine .
  10. Drove my B-95 from N H to Littz pa for the 100th ann of Mack, Sat Fire trucks with all the rest on Sunday. 707 AT 3 MPG eq broke , broke and more broke but it ran well at 60 mph. If I went slower I had to drive it, but at 60 it went right down the road 20 gall of back up gas in the bed and every gas staion I tried to pass on interstate 81 I stopped. Good luck with it and as allways any thing I can help, just ask ! Angelo B-95#1070 EX Port Chester NY
  11. 4 fire trucks is all I can fit along 20 other trucks, tractors, bulldozers, and backhoes Look at How old can a fire truck be page to see them still together.
  12. Like it was said , If you can't drive them then at least you can look at them when you open the doors. Here are two of my fire engines in the barn, 1958 Ward Lafrance and the 1957 Mack B-95 both X Port Chester New York and then another 15 years or so in Alexandria N H. They have been together now for 55 years. Bulldogboy look on Gregs list to see the 1957 FWD that was in service in Alexandria at the same time frame. It must have been in storage for at least 10 years.
  13. Ok I have a 1957 B-95 with a 707 in it. the truck has been parked since 2002 when the gas prices went through the roof. The last show I went to was Litiz when Harvy had the Mack 100th year show on Saturday for Fire trucks[ all Mack fire trucks only]and the normal show on sunday. I drove it round trip a little over 500 miles from the Catkills N.Y and it cost me $900.00 in gas. Today it will be around $3,000.00 in gas .I say this because you have to know how you are going to use your prize . I have a 671 Detroit[yes F.W.D.] ready to go in it so I can show the truck again. It will not be original but what good is it sitting in my barn not going any where because of cost. A buddy of mine has a 1950 Ward Lafrance that had a blown motor and went with a 466 International diesel which is very common and easy to find. He has the cost of diesel and the availabilty of a common engine. I may go that way but thought about buying a school bus used late model and taking the whole drive train out GM or International junk the bus or use it as a work shop this way you have a modern matching drive line with highway speeds. PS your engine was taken out because it is well sought after 413 wedge and a cheap way to get one !
  14. OK new stuff water based now nice find 41 chevy !
  15. Why in the world would want that stuff. It drys out your tires so they can crack. Use a power washer to clean the tires good and deep then let dry then use todays products for that shine .
  16. That was cool ,thanks 1979 White Western Star !
  17. Yes he destroryed the first R model fire engine made #1001 !
  18. Yes it is I drove both the Mack [1981] then the Ward [1991] up there from my dept. I have them both in my barn. Bought the Mack in 2000 then the Ward in 2004 they have been together for 45 of the 55 years together. only 10 years apart when the Mack left first. My photo to the left is on the ramp at Alexandria !
  19. Detroit does not have a governor it has a Mayor ! sorry had too, Do you feel any better now ?
