I think the owner was posting progress pic's of that on the ATHS site when he began the project. I had forgotten about that project until now. The father of a friend of mine back in our high school days had an Astro with a droolin' dozen in it.

No Longer an Antique Truck Owner

The company at the time was called Wabash Fibre Box and was located in Ft Wayne, IN. When we won the lease we bought out the other leasing companies 671/10 speed powered Fleetstars and provided them with 300/5speed R Models. I believe we renewed twice with them which means 3 sets of trucks. This was the 1st group and the 3 group was some of the last R's that Parrish Leasing ordered before they went to CH612's. -

The trucks of my adolescent & teen years were IHC 4070 & 4070B's, Mack Cruiseliners & MH613's. Can also throw in Fleetstars (already owned one), R's & I drove U's as well. A friend of mine has a 4070B with an 8V92/10Speed that is close to what I'd like, I'd want to swap it out to a 13 as that is what our 4070B's had. Mike H already has a Cruiseliner that I'd like to have, but I don't think I can talk him into parting with it. 1st couple pics are Aaron's 4070B & Mike's Cruiseliner then some of our 4070's, U's & R's & an MH613. -

Well sadly I just sold my 1964 B Model Mack. This truck meant a lot to me. As a teenager I lot drove this truck and my dad & late father-in-law also drove this truck for Parrish Leasing. It was ordered new for E.W. Bohren of Woodburn, IN then traded to Meek Mack of Ft Wayne and Don Parrish Sr of Parrish Truck Rental purchased the truck and it remained with that company until I purchased it. Mike H. bought my F Model from me a couple years back and I sold my Fleetstar to a gentleman in Rochester, IN to use to pull his trailer with antique Farmall's and now a gentleman out of Warsaw, IN purchased this unit. I'm just glad nothing had to go to scrap.

As usual it falls with the start of Ft Wayne, IN's Three Rivers Festival, besides I'm broke.

How to part out Truck
Terry T replied to MightyFruit Trucking's topic in Modern Mack Truck General Discussion
Depending on where in Ohio. Toledo has Goody's Truck Parts & Central Ave Truck Parts. Koester's in New Haven, IN might be interested in rebuilding it. Just a couple thoughts. -
Ultraliner/MH6XX

I forgot about taking pictures of these a while back. They are still running 3 MH613's out of Ft Recovery, OH. -
I would bet my last dollar that it was headed south of the Rio Grande. Around here they buy up the junk at the auctions & stack them 4 deep, then set a small box truck on the last truck then stick a compact pick up truck in the back of the box truck. No visible numbers, plates, markings and just head south with them with just a new purchase temp tag.

Back in '91/'92 when I was running across I-80 in PA on a regular basis there were two Magnum's, one MH and one Superliner pulling dump buckets. I always heard them before they got next to my trailer and felt them after they were next to my trailer. Didn't matter if we were headed up hill, down hill or across one of the short flat spots they would walk the dog right on by me. -
I thought there was a thread with MH picutres but I just spent the past 1/2 hour looking. This is one of the 21 MH613's that we ran back in the 80's/90's. This is unit 410. 400 was the 1st MH613 and our last one was a used truck purchase which also happened to be a Freedom Edition number 420. I drove several of them including 420 (The Freedom) and really enjoyed the ride for a cabover.

Friends of mine, Tim & Renee did the same thing with Renee doing it 1st. April made her one year and she had lost 125 at that point. She looks great and said she feels better then she as ever felt as an adult. Tim is about 6 months behind her and is doing great, looking real good. Tim was my driving partner in the early 90's and is still a Line haul driver for Fed-Ex.

Just a thought. Repaint the bumper body color then add polished alum diamond plate panels over the flat surfaces of the bumper. Keep that rugged bumper and get a little shine at the same time. Don't butt the plates, instead leave an 1/8 inch on all sides of each flat surface. two sided body molding tape would hold the alum plates in place.

years ago some of us used the chat here but then most of us migrated to the ATHS chat room then we all just kinda stopped chatting on a regular basis. At one time there was well over a dozen of us on every week night usually around 9:00pm EST. Folks from all across the U.S., Down under and maybe Great Britian.
