  1. Well sadly I just sold my 1964 B Model Mack. This truck meant a lot to me. As a teenager I lot drove this truck and my dad & late father-in-law also drove this truck for Parrish Leasing. It was ordered new for E.W. Bohren of Woodburn, IN then traded to Meek Mack of Ft Wayne and Don Parrish Sr of Parrish Truck Rental purchased the truck and it remained with that company until I purchased it. Mike H. bought my F Model from me a couple years back and I sold my Fleetstar to a gentleman in Rochester, IN to use to pull his trailer with antique Farmall's and now a gentleman out of Warsaw, IN purchased this unit. I'm just glad nothing had to go to scrap.
  2. As usual it falls with the start of Ft Wayne, IN's Three Rivers Festival, besides I'm broke.
  3. Tilted Kilt.... Here are some of my visits to Hooters back when!
  4. won't open for me, sends me to a link to download new software.
  5. Depending on where in Ohio. Toledo has Goody's Truck Parts & Central Ave Truck Parts. Koester's in New Haven, IN might be interested in rebuilding it. Just a couple thoughts.
  6. I forgot about taking pictures of these a while back. They are still running 3 MH613's out of Ft Recovery, OH.
  7. Thoughts and Prayers for Mike. In the blink of an eye, everything changes....
  8. I would bet my last dollar that it was headed south of the Rio Grande. Around here they buy up the junk at the auctions & stack them 4 deep, then set a small box truck on the last truck then stick a compact pick up truck in the back of the box truck. No visible numbers, plates, markings and just head south with them with just a new purchase temp tag.
  9. Oh boy Hippie, I hope the girlfriend doesn't hear what you are saying about her.....
  10. Back in '91/'92 when I was running across I-80 in PA on a regular basis there were two Magnum's, one MH and one Superliner pulling dump buckets. I always heard them before they got next to my trailer and felt them after they were next to my trailer. Didn't matter if we were headed up hill, down hill or across one of the short flat spots they would walk the dog right on by me.
  11. I thought there was a thread with MH picutres but I just spent the past 1/2 hour looking. This is one of the 21 MH613's that we ran back in the 80's/90's. This is unit 410. 400 was the 1st MH613 and our last one was a used truck purchase which also happened to be a Freedom Edition number 420. I drove several of them including 420 (The Freedom) and really enjoyed the ride for a cabover.
  12. Friends of mine, Tim & Renee did the same thing with Renee doing it 1st. April made her one year and she had lost 125 at that point. She looks great and said she feels better then she as ever felt as an adult. Tim is about 6 months behind her and is doing great, looking real good. Tim was my driving partner in the early 90's and is still a Line haul driver for Fed-Ex.
  13. Just a thought. Repaint the bumper body color then add polished alum diamond plate panels over the flat surfaces of the bumper. Keep that rugged bumper and get a little shine at the same time. Don't butt the plates, instead leave an 1/8 inch on all sides of each flat surface. two sided body molding tape would hold the alum plates in place.
  14. years ago some of us used the chat here but then most of us migrated to the ATHS chat room then we all just kinda stopped chatting on a regular basis. At one time there was well over a dozen of us on every week night usually around 9:00pm EST. Folks from all across the U.S., Down under and maybe Great Britian.
  15. So... you're in my neighborhood and you don't call, you don't text.
  16. If you don't already do it, I would recommend an oil analysis. Because of this little scare perhaps do it half way through the oil change cycle then again at oil change. I do them a couple times a year on my pick up truck. Appears that I have a leaky (hopefully) intake manifold gasket again. All metals are well within normal limits.
  17. I just did sloppy joe's. I like to brown up 1 lb of ground chuck, then chop up onion & banana peppers and add in while browing as well has a handful of shreaded cheese, crumble up some bacon then add a generic type of sloppy joe sauce. Let simmer for about 20-25 minutes and it's ready to go. Also had fried potato's that I fixed up a few days ago. I slice up the potatos, add chopped onion, seasoning salt & pepper then shake it all up in a container and fry them up in bacon grease.
  18. You just described Hot Rodding prior to the aftermarket. Today we just call JEG'S or Summit and order exactly what we want and when we are done, we all have the same thing just in different colors. Prior to the aftermarket we went to the bone yard, found something that was close to what we needed then cut, torched, banged, bent and welded it until it worked. This thing really isn't my style but I'd be one who would look it over from front to back just because of the time and thought that went into it. The last "hot rod" that I can think of was a '78 Ford F150 4X4 that a friend of mine built in the late 1980's. He built the coil spring front and rear suspension with a Dana 60 out back and a Dana 44 up front running 40" mudders with a 504cid Chevy big block and a Ford top-loader 4 speed transmission and it ran the 1/8 mile in the mid 6's. He worked, fab'd and massaged almost every inch of that truck during the years he owned it. Another friend of mine now owns a V8 Powered S10 4X4 that use to belong to the same guy. Truck started out as an S10 standard cab/long bed but now is an extended cab/shortbed with a 10 inch extention in front of the firewall on a custom square tube front clip. I still love to see people think on their own and create their own fun instead of ordering from a catalog.
  19. when I ran heavy wrecker I had to go onto the mound at the area landfill several times to get refuse trucks that broke down with various issues. I was always amazed at how much that entire mound moved around! By my 3rd time on it I was use to it but it's still an odd sensation, like being stuck in traffic on the G.W.
  20. Obviously this is from decades earlier but perhaps this is close to the correct info.
  21. You might contact ATHS HQ in Kansas CIty.Bryan Webster wrote a story about Tucker for the May/June 2011 issue of Wheels of TIme. there are no pictures of trucks with the info that you seek but perhaps Mr. Webster has more info on the company than was printed in the article.
  22. I don't have any pictures of Tucker equipment as Tucker closed their operation on the Friday prior to me starting to work at Brothers Express (I started the following Monday). Brothers Express at the time was a cartage agent in Ft Wayne and we did the local P & D for Tucker. I just checked through my memorabilia and have nothing that has Tucker's operating authorities on it....
  23. Chose Tucker out of South Bend, IN for your scale model's company, I like that. Someone with more knowledge than I can chime in here but I believe that is the oil reservoir for the power steering. I'm not sure as my B Model does not have power steering and doesn't have such a reservoir.
  24. Our local "Occupational Health" clinics all do DOT physicals for around 75.00
