  1. Never heard of that Rob. Do u have any website I can go to check it out?
  2. Thanks Steve... I really wish they made a bolt on kit for Macks...
  3. I really like the Dynaflex Exhaust that is on the market right now. I will tell u guys what im looking for and hope I get some better ideas and feedback. Im thinking 6" duals on an MH with an E9. I would like the lengths to be able to be changed ( reason why I think Dynaflex is the best choice). I need to have short stacks to clear the asphalt plant and some tall ones to pull vans in the winter. I have never been around them and think their design would be ideal for what im wanting to do. I know they are expensive, but im kinda restoring the truck to working condition and do want a nice set of stacks. When looking at the 4 States catalog it looks like the Freightliner 6" kit may work for my application. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated before spending that much money. Thanks in advance ~Joe
  4. Im jealous that i didnt do it first. Maybe we can get ur truck and mine side by side. That looked like tons of fun for sure..
  5. I just loved it when I say this, and had to share it with u guys!
  6. Ya the 03 427 my grandpa had was converted to a 460 with a fan change and a computer upgrade that they said u can no longer get. They said it was an off road computer upgrade. Im here to tell ya that thing got 38 pounds of boost and ran like a big dog. Im sure u can still get that upgrade with some persuading.
  7. U might get some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray all ur joints with the truck running. My old man used to find cac air leaks by spotting dirt lines on your steel piping where the rubber joints clamp down. Just a couple things to try... Later ~Joe
  8. I got 2 swing bikes here at the house I ride all the time... They sure do get attention with the younger kids...LOL
  9. Im so jealous of u Greg... Ive been trying to buy a nice all original like u got, but the bank wont loan me the money cause they dont think its worth what the guys wants.... o well U got a nice truck there. I let u guys know when im back out that way. I will buy u that cup of coffee for sure, but then again i dont want eveybody seeing me drive this Maroon Vulva (Volvo).. Later ~Joe
  10. What rears do they have? Anything rebuilt?
  11. Nope. Trent I was hauling seed corn out that way and picking up a back haul in Howard, PA. Im back home now. Probably headed that way again next week.
  12. Well i'm off to PA in the a.m., so u guys get those awesome dogs out on the road for me to see... I hope to at least get passed by an E9 while im out there..... Later ~Joe
  13. Im not saying what I did makes sense for sure. I just know what I did and it fixed it. The truck had the pump with the res. mounted to it. ( u know the style clear back by the fire wall where u couldnt even add oil to). I put the same style (used) back on it and it did the same thing. So we broke down and put a Vickers pump on with a frame mounted res. and it fixed the problem. I dont know why but it did the trick. Maybe u can put a flow meter in line to check things out?
  14. power steering pump may be bad. I had the same problem on an R model. It would only get bad if i crossed a set of RR tracks kinda fast. It ended up being the pump. Some of the old style power steering pumps had internal filters on them, u may need to check that out. Im not sure how new your truck is or if it is the same style im thinking of.
  15. I hate Glatz Truck Sales in Decatur. I tried to see what a truck is worth to purchase, and all he wanted to do is sell me a new POS. I dont want new junk that has to go to the dealer to get worked on! He tried to feed me some CSA crap about old trucks are a dying breed and the gov. wants them off the road for safety purposes. Im not buying it! Then he turned around and wants to look at it to see its worth. I know what that was, he was gonna buy it out from under me to resell for twice the money.... What is this world coming to?
  16. I'm just looking for opinions here.... What would u guys put on a superliner with an E9 for straight pipes? 6, 7, Or 8's? They can only be 8 ft long though. Any advice is appreciated. Mufflers just wont due!
  17. A friend of mine was telling me about JR's trucks. He gets 5 to 5.5.... If u keep the boost under 20 u will get 8 mpg..
  18. Francise Engineering's tech # is 800-641-7920. He is in Painesville Ohio.
  19. I've also been torn what to put in them. My dad says 15/40 for the main reason is if the pump seal goes out all ur doing is putting the same type of oil in the engine that is already there.
  20. Jr himself has a couple of his own road trucks with 1,000 hp that go down the road every day. The stock heads will not hold up to that type of hp on a daily basis. The only way is to do what he did. And that is to buy heads from Dale Francise. He has 3 different types, stock heads ( which have the valve seats pressed in to 10,000 psi.) ( stock from Mack is only 5,000 psi which is why they cant handle that much hp) Dales 2nd set is a hot stock ( a little porting and bigger springs), his third is full on high performance turning up to 5500 rpm. So back to the topic is u need heads first thats 5 grand or so, an inline fuel pump from Jr's pump man and laser cut injectors and a Holset turbo that he recommends for the set up and bump the timing a little and there you have it.....
  21. LOL Well first of all is the such a thing as good fuel mileage out of an E9? If so be honest and let me know... I guess it all comes down to how hard u drive. So i will cut to the chase, Ive got a toss up between an 86 350 12 spd. Or an 88 E9 10 spd. with 3:87. The E9 has brand new heads and is an all original 1 owner truck. AND.... the E9 is cheaper to buy, Is 5 mpg to much to ask for out of this thing for local rock hauling? Am I just dreaming here? ~Joe
  22. U have to be careful with how u shift those things for sure.... But to just confuse things futher our 1970 mack has a rare 5spd with a direct and overdrive on the left stick. The right stick is R 1-5. Hard to find and very hard to get parts for..
