The Dart was just across the drive from the food building and in front of the tractors. There was a canopy where they were selling raffle tickets (1=$5 and 6=$20).

This was my third year in attendance (but without the MH). Always enjoy spending time at the museum, talking with all the people (both Museum and enthusiasts), and looking at the trucks. Thanks to all who are involved with Trucktoberfest. However I was not "excited" about the way the lunch was handled. Looking forward to 2015 and beyond. Leon and Rene are here from the Netherlands. They will be at Gerhart's on Saturday.

Tom, Thanks for all the pics. Very nice! Many of the vehicles were already there on Friday when the wifey and I were there. Did you hear a total count? The TC U was just as nice in person as it is in the pics. Almost makes me want a sidewinder. Also, did you buy tickets for the Dodge Dart GT convertible? I bought six (6) tickets....drawing is October 19th.

Cab Fresh...one under the passenger seat, one under the driver's seat, and one in each compartment. Little bastard bitch chewed the downy sheet that was on top of the sticky trap which was next to the cab fresh bag. I don't know how to get any closer. The box where I found the nest was next to the sticky trap and cab fresh. Can't get much closer.

I saw that TC U....very sharp. Maybe it will be at Gerhart's on Saturday. BTW, Tom...thanks for the call.

Arrived at the farm earlier this evening. Checked the MH and the DAMN mouse was at it again. Nothing in the trap (with peanut butter) or the sticky traps. However fresh mouse turds on the mattress and the DAMN mouse RUINED my Mack Ultraliner jacket (which was previously untouched). Under the driver's seat were a stickly trap, cab fresh, and a Downy sheet. The mouse shredded the Downy sheet which was on top of the sticky trap and also some napkins on top of the dash. I removed the mattress and NOTHING other than turds not even any damage to the moving blanket on the mattress. So I started checking the stowage compartments. In the drivier's side compartment in one of my boxes was a NEW nest with more fiberglass insulation and the mouse was in there with three (3) little ones. Well the box got tossed on the ground, mama mouse is wounded (went scurrying limping off under the rear of the truck) but the little ones...well they did not survive (sniff sniff). So far Farmer 3, Mouse 1 MIA. The hunt will continue on Tuesday when I return. BTW, great bunch of trucks at Winchester (stopped for a few hours on Friday) and a great show at Trucktoberfest today (Saturday).

Arrived at the Hawthorne just before 5pm. Checked in and unloaded the stuff. See some of you later this evening and the rest Saturday morning. Jim - We can't get into very much trouble. The "bosses" will be with us. But then again, Yardo will be there so he will likely "stir the pot".

Mrs. Farmer and I stopped by around noon and left about 2p. LOTS of trucks already and many COEs! This is only my second visit but this is a great show. Too bad it is the same weekend as Trucktoberfest. I would like to spend more time. I took a few pics. Tom - take lots of pics.

Mack Day 2014 - Gerhart Equipment, Lititz
farmer52 replied to Doug Maney's topic in Truck Shows and Events
The nooner BMT picture at 1:00p works for me. -
The wife and I plan to stop by on Friday around noon and spend a couple hours. Then we will be on our way to Fogelsville, PA and Trucktoberfest. Hope you have a great show!

Jody and I will be arriving from Winchester late Friday afternoon. We plan to be there unless there are issues.....see ya!

It was at Gerhart's last year (2013), maybe it will be there this year.

No ditches. Topography is too rolling. There are culverts in the low areas to let the water run from one side of the road to the other. Every couple years the state and township highway departments will use a motor grader and "shape" the berm. Now that I think about it, I do not know of anyone in the area with a "ditch" in their yard. I forgot to mention, most of the corn was about 10' tall. The chopper operator had a difficult time seeing over the top of the stalks.

Mack color codes?
farmer52 replied to Bigdogtrucker's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
I think the museum would know the color for the code. -
Mack color codes?
farmer52 replied to Bigdogtrucker's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
Send a note to the museum unless someone on BMT has the answer. -
Rob, I prefer the standing corn....more privacy (I can take a wizz in back of the barn ), less wind, and quieter. Now that the corn is gone, more debris (corn leaves) will be blowing into the yard. FYI, the farmer is going to no till wheat this fall and then will go alfalfa.

Hours vs miles?
farmer52 replied to Bigdogtrucker's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
I always used the following formula as a good rule of thumb... Highway vehicle: miles / 50mph = hours (hours x 50mph = miles) Off-Highway vehicle: hours x 30mph = miles (miles / 30mph = hours) -
Mike, Yes and a Sterling too. However they do have a Mack CH (it is following the FL).

Posting some before and after pics of green corn harvest at the PA farm. It was an overcast day. The chopper cuts about a 30' swath and blows the material (corn silage) into the truck. The header on the chopper has rotary cutters so the operator does not need to follow the rows. The silage is fed to dairy cattle for milk production. The farmer that rents my farm is one of two large milk producers in the area.

I posted this Superliner owned by J.H.Russell in the Superliner pic thread. Also a pic of an RD(?) at a work site about a mile from the PA farm. -
Some Superliner Pics.
farmer52 replied to jackb61sx's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
Local PA company...J.H.Russell. Still has a couple in service. I have a video of it running but cannot upload (too big). -
Nice pics as usual. Nice to see other parts of this country. 'specially like the MH. BTW, good to see a female driver not "airing it out".

farmer52 replied to rsb502's topic in Trucks for Sale
Pics of the interior? How difficult to get parts for the cab (compared to a MH)?
