  1. You can ohm test them. I believe it’s 200-300 ohms is the in spec range. Also JoeyMack just posted a quick/simple test the other day on these. It was in AI 400 extended crank time.
  2. Possibly a engine position sensor or engine speed sensor.
  3. Yup and they get extremely dirty. As for the high pressure switch it’s the one on the top of the dryer. Only ever seen one go bad. Wiggle it and the compressor would work and then you would have AC. Then later in the day there would be no AC. Wiggle it again to get it back in business. Finally just replaced it.
  4. Yup, more then likely what would be heard is “Shut it off! Shut it offf!!”
  5. Yea, it’s to help really see the agitation. Plus it’s just easy to return the fuel back to where it came from and let it repeat the process as long as you would like.
  6. We have those on our trucks and they are great, also very strong. You can get them with a small digital screen in the top that give you air temp/road temp if you want that.
  7. People just don’t get that good quality work isn’t cheap…especially since it’s hard to find. Also that using OEM parts is far more expensive but last and work correctly. Hey, WHEN they come back because some hack with a parts cannon was in there just give them the “I don’t want to do it price” 😏
  8. I’m sure you have pry fixed this issue by now, but something happened to come to mind. It’s pry not possible but I’ll throw it out there anyway….Any possibility with the egr valve? I know it has an electrical connector and is controlled by oil pressure. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  9. Cool, keep in touch. A few of the other guys I was talking about will probably chime in with some solid advice. 🍻
  10. By the way fjh is reallllly good with this stuff along with a handful of others on here.
  11. No you read 9k right…🤣 keep an eye on oil level, could be injector(s)
  12. Consider yourself lucky, ours happened at 9k miles. Highly doubt you will be able to get much more out of it. I could be wrong though. Ours was all from one cup leaking. I looked back to see what was done and all six injectors were replaced as they need to be for the updated “steel conical” cups.
  13. We had and 08 MP7 with bad cups. Very Extended start times but otherwise ran fine after start up. Also the oil level was growing. Ended up replacing the cups and 3 injectors.

Interesting stuff….crazy to think that mack would farm out part production such as lifters to Bosch! The fuel pumps on the e-techs were the ones with the plastic gears and would spin on the shafts right? Damn 40 cams is pretty impressive…🍻
  15. Did those part numbers work out for you?

    Yes thanks again. 👍🏻

Which ones were pretty well known for flaking/breaking cams? I heard a lot of “talk” about it, but never came across one.
  18. If you got the time and money I’d say it gets my vote for a second life. In the long run it’s still gonna be a lot cheaper and far less issues then a new truck, depending on what you consider buying…Plus a 91 ch is cool. Only downfall I could see would be getting parts idk.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isnt the ASET just an E-Tec with emission controls and different programming? For example having CCRS (current controlled rate shaping).

AI is an ASET (application specific engine technology) with in cylinder EGR. Started in 02 I think which was the end of the “E-tec”. As for the performance on the E-tec 400 they are pretty good and the E-tec engines were the last of the better ones. If your coming from another truck and never had a Mack then most likely you will think it’s a “dog”. Mack’s we’re never fast or built to be, but they will pull anything. DieselDog is right about the gearing and trans with these trucks. What kind of truck is it that your looking at?
  21. When does it have extended cranktime? Have you checked oil level? Maybe check the fuel pressure once you know it’s gonna start acting up? Maybe it’s a crank position sensor…could be alot of things.
  22. Awesome. Let us know how you make out.
  23. Sorry do you have access to customer truck portal? If not I’ll look tomorrow, but the only GUs we have are a 07 and 19.
