  1. Never did I think it would go that far the fuel rail pressure was constantly 2000 plus psi gm states from 500 to 2300 is good but never stated at what speeds or loads
  2. I know it’s just a pick up but with all the problems I have had with this engine noise Maby this will help others out . My truck is a 2017 gmc with the 5.3 after I gout it I got a cold exhaust leak would make some noise on start up then go away . Then it developed a hard shift from 1st to 2nd when cold and only one time . Then it developed a knocking sound when cold like it had a diesel and you could hear the injectors rattling this would happen when cold for a few miles then go away but if you let it idle for a few min it would come back and then go away after a few miles . Also the fuel mileage sucked if you sat in traffic the fumes got worse . Finally I bought new manifolds and gaskets I only had 1 broken bolt but the last 2 ports were leaking . Fired it up with the leak fixed and no injector knocking and shift problem is gone the exhaust leak caused it to over fuel go figure hope this helps others

  12. Yep I worked on the cat trucks when they came out just a navastar that had cat all over it the only thing cat was the auto trans they said it was a dozer transmission that had some modifications to it. We had one of the 4x4 cat trucks too I think they only built 2 nothing but problems when it came out the 4x4 didn’t work they too it to a show and a sales man put in the 4x4 and it went into low range and stayed there it needed air to go in and out of low range no line was conected and the switches were all wrong we call in and told them what we needed and they said an engineer had to decide that we made our own repair so the customer could use it

  18. I never compared frame thickness between a gas or a diesel I know mine was a long chassis truck was built a a livestock truck and it had a plate that ran from behind the front spring mounts to the front of the rear spring mounts I ended up removing it because of rust jacking it was only on the sides and bottom not on the top
