  1. I have had the auto power divider send a sound through the drive shaft, imitating a tranny issue. could this be what you hear? (assuming you have an auto power divider)? jojo
  2. i feel the same as D-Day. some other valve is passing air.. I'm gonna sit back and watch... dont want to put a wrench in the works,,, jojo
  3. Now its tax season, and I have to study the new laws ( i mean rules for taxpayers).. Im curious about the new tax credit that was raised from around $16,000.00 too about $21,000.00 for single non- parents. It may be a good idea, I wont know until i read the rule book.. but really, my thoughts are? who's going to pay taxes, when we, who pay taxes, will be forced to use govt. programs because we have been taxed right out of normal living. ? I dont know, having a moment I guess.... jojo
  4. Jeff, one thing i'm still not clear on... when all the lines are hooked up, and a little air pressure is present at the switch... have you tried to move the truck, to see if the brakes are dragging. or even just un-hook the service lines on the brake chambers to see if pressure is present? (yellow button pushed in) ? jojo
  5. Im just curious how air pressure is present at the air switch, turning the brake lights on.. I wonder if he unhooks each brake valve to find the one that is back feeding air? what do you think, D-Day ?
  6. mabey pull a line , one at a time from the treadle valve to find which line is feeding the switch port. pul a line, if its not it, hook it back up, and go to the next one.. is the trolly brake valve defective? im sorry but im at a bit of a loss. it would be better if I could see the issue as it happens... jojo
  7. That's what I'm talking about..... jojo
  8. No delete's..... these computers are too smart... Sorry, Jojo
  9. Have you checked the deck to see if its flat? I built a '90 E-7 2 years ago, and bought heads from PAI.. no problems with the engine. be carefull with the exhaust manifold, there are none available. Jojo
  10. so true....
  11. to check the wear on the ends, I used to put a magnetic dial indicator on the bar and the pointer on the pivot, (wheels still on the truck) then jack the truck off the ground to get a reading,, at 100 thousanths, i knew the bar ends were likely worn out. you can pull the caps and clean the grease out of the way to see the movement, bring a friend to help.. you can raise and lower the truck until you feel you have the answer.. jojo
  12. If the A-Frame is not rusted out at the bottom where the trunnion is mounted, and not cracked real bad inside the frame, and all you have is 'D' shaped trunnion ends... I have actually hired an axle surgeon company that will cut the trunnion bar out and weld in a new one.. I have hired this service 4 times and the work is pretty good. and it was $1500.00... I had to strip the wheels and spring packs off, but so what, gotta do it anyway, then I got new pivots from Mack and built my spring packs on the side. then put it all back together the next day. My guess is the company in youre area will have the name of your state followed by Axle surgeon. jojo
  13. Its a bit of work. Do you have to replace the A-Frame? or are you talking about the bolsters in the spring boxes? just curious. I know full well what is in youre future.. Wish I was there to help you get it done.. jojo
  14. Have you tried to go to the "Trucks dealer portal" and go in through the customer portal, then access "E-Media" ?? jojo
  15. yep.... hopefully he can do the job himself... jojo
  16. when they wear out the can move any direction, and if there arent any 'twinkies' in the boxes,, even more movement, enough so that ive seen the A-Frame bolts/hucks polished by the tires, due to movement... Way way worn out at that point.. what happens is the steel plate on the bolster breaks loose from the rubber, and well.... it moves.. jojo
  17. yes. I have an older version... and I dont know how much of the cab wiring was changed between the 2.. Sorry, jojo
  18. take a look at the box rubber's.. i bet you can wiggle them with the truck sitting normally... ATRO makes a descent kit and it's affordable... jojo
  19. So what I have is for V-MAC III... Heres a look... jojo
  20. I can look. I have many of them but dont recall an MR diagram.. I will go out to my shop in a bit, to look.. jojo
  21. This is a tough one,, those trucks are wiring nightmare's. The Allison fuse should be #71.. just for kicks, since its a farm truck, cant you just run a starter button to the exciter on the starter, put a 15 amp fuse in-line with it, and crank it over. by the way, the wiring looks to be in great shape,, Ive worked on many of these where the dog house was loose or open, and as trash trucks they would get filled with everything under the sun. youre lucky.. jojo
  22. yep, 'F' is right.. the plug is probably hanging there behind the elbow in the air duct. the plug is flat, about 1 1/2" wide. too funny, I still forget that plug at times myself.. jojo
  23. have some 1/2" pipe plugs handy if you do pull the sensors. you will need to 'hot swap' the plug into the sensor hole.. jojo
  24. A few years ago I fixed a similar issue, with an M-Drive. Under the cab on the left side was a wire harness that ran down the frame and over the top and down to the tranny. I found wires rubbed through in the harness where it curled over the frame. I soldered the wire together and , just like that it was fixed.. I spent 2 days on that truck and was hitting dead ends. I even pulled the shift cover off a couple of times because I thought I had a speed sensor issues and a shift cover issue. I hit the re-set button and started over.. and that was when I found the wire, i had to spread the wires out and look real good for it.. Good luck, Jojo
