  1. BTW, when all Drive shafts are phased, the inter axle drive shaft will NOT stay phased to the main drive shaft assembly due to the slippage of the through shaft in the front diff..
  2. Phasing the u-joints, is a concern when you seperate the slip yoke from the drive shaft.. easy breezy.. your picture doesnt show the concern you have, take a picture of the next u-joint, and the next one after that all as an assembly.. Phasing is simple,,, both yokes on a section of drive shaft shall be in-line with each other. now,,, GW is going to come in here with the 3 degree offset stuff, and add more science to the simple set-up you have... so..... here we go is that an X107 twin stick tranny?
  3. I posted this somewere else,,, A friend told me that ''D.E.I.'' causes people to,,, ''D.I.E.''
  4. Oh hell....you had to go and bring up inboard drums.... 🤣 That will need a different lesson.. Jojo
  5. 996 B is a strong possibility, im forgeting 2 other drum numbers, make sure the drum is piloted by the axle hub. Thats what keeps it true. The drum number is cast into the drum
  6. I took care of a fleet, that had 6 or so with propar, fruehoff, axles, had to keep the bearings in order when putting them back in during a wheel seal repair, since they were the same.. seal # 370065-A, I liked the screw on axle caps too, that some of them had.
  7. It's Mackey58' day... Happy Birthday sir, !!!!
  8. spicer with Budd's..
  9. you want to see the hub cap. don't you,,FJH??
  10. 10-4 GW,, I guess the axle shaft didnt look to be 6'' O.D., and obviuosly not square,, like me,,,
  11. It does,, but one good thing I dont see.... is black oil... Know what I mean.. ?
  12. yep... looks clean on the outside, pull the pedal pin and pull the plunger out of the hole and see if it could use some lube,, maint. thingy is all..
  13. all good. just know that those floor mounted treadle valves will stick. everything on your boot lands on the pedal, hinge, and plunger.. any pen. oil on a regular basis will help.. anti sieze it when you have it apart.. you got this...
  14. is the rubber boot still under the brake pedal? just for fun, spray Kroil into the piston inder the brake pedal, with full air pressure on the truck, and use short strokes to work the Kroil into the piston, you may get lucky, or at leaste find the issue, and know where to go to fixi it.
  15. propar, you sure.. XEM's you sure..? Looked like spicer, with 4515's..
  16. well the profile picture is an 'R' model.. definatley possible that the plunger under the brake pedal is sticking..
  17. so 1 brake appication locks the brakes? for how long? do you hear a slow hissing before the brakes reales with foot off the pedal? that valve looks crappy anyway, change it, what condition is the park brake valve. likely an R-12 valve..
  18. I heard that D.E.I. causes folk's to............. D.I.E.
  19. I second GW...
  20. if you back off the brake shoes, you can put a 1/4'' wide piece of flat stock in the gap. if the flat stock is below the pads your good, if not,,, new shos needed...
  21. Hope you are watching night #3 at the RNC,, I see a message across the bottom of the screen saying The Klansman may drop out of the race due to medical conditions.
  22. Exacyly !!!!!! TJC,,, you so smarrrt
  23. Biggest problem I come across on older axles is worn S cam bushing and worn spiders where the bushings are pressed in. If they are badly worn, it will be impossible to keep the brakes in adjustment and working correctly. YEP !!
  24. Well the Commie Puppet has Covid again..
