  1. 10 is the windshield wipers. looks like it was a fire truck so the other switches could be a litany of things. Lights, sirens, etc
  2. The listing says its an EM7, which would be a Maxidyne. I think the Maxidynes have different pistons and camshafts than the E7s FYI. Also the fuel pump on an EM7 is governed at 1750. If your trying to make 500hp you'll probably want more RPMs than 1750. You probably will be changing all that on this build but if you buy an engine for parts/core be cognizant of that.
  3. If I'm not mistaken the "factory" bunks for Superliners were made by Able Body. Mack didn't manufacture their own sleeper until the CH came along. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think that is how it went back then. Are you able to determine what brand that sleeper is or if you know if it came from the factory like that or aftermarket? Perhaps if you send into the Mack Museum they will send all the build literature for that truck and you can get some more information that way. 4. I think it goes back to people being angry/disappointed with American foreign policy and aggression. My guess is if you could travel back in time 3 or 4 months and take a survey of every American by asking a simple question" Who is Nicolas Maduro?", I would be surprised if 10 or even 5% would have know the answer. Hmmm. Nicolas Maduro was such an existential threat to the United States and the American citizens that hardily anybody knew who he was. Then a narrative begins to take shape regarding drug boats and drug smugglers from Venezuela and the country's leader, Nicolas Maduro is involved. Why was it just drug boats from Venezuela? Do the Columbian cartels not run drug boats? Mexicans? Panamanians? The narrative is built up such that is somewhat palatable to the average citizen. The flow of drugs from Venezuela is so severe its destroying America and Nicolas Maduro and his country is enemy #1. In my opinion Nicolas Maduro is patsy. I'm sure he is not a great guy and I would definitely not want to live as someone under his rule. However, if anyone thinks this thing is about prosecuting him on drug trafficking charges and curtailing illicit drugs from entering the USA is not paying attention. The USA is wading deep, deep into "dangerous water". My guess is its doing so alone, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if its allies decided not to wade in behind it should SHTF....
  5. Was probably set up for Jersey. Back then I think you could carry 80,000 on a tandem dump like that. Maybe you still can if you have one of those special overweight permits. I'm not super familiar but its been discussed on here before. From what I heard back in those days they they either didn't have or didn't check bridge laws. If you had a tandem dump you could load to 80k and hit the road. @tjc transport would know and/or if you can still carry that massive weight on a tandem.
  6. If you are able to open the link and look at all the pictures in the listing. He has a bunch of interesting stuff in the garage. Looks like an Autocar, B81, and an L cab Mack at a minimum. Also some stuff sitting around outside looks interesting.
  7. No affiliation. Just passing along this listing I thought was interesting on Marketplace. 63,000 original miles. RBs are pretty scarce as it is. Might be expensive. I don't know. A brand new factory tandem dump truck with that heavy steel body like that is probably over $200,000 with FET. 1989 Mack rbs dump truck - Commercial Vehicles - Howell, New Jersey | Facebook Marketplace | Facebook
  8. Ken, I'll put aside my sarcasm for a moment. I'm not sure if you know but using exclamation points and all capital letters on a forum discussion is akin to yelling at somebody during an in-person conversation. Also saying "I will keep my comments to myself" implies you have nothing nice to say, or whatever you say may illicit an unfavorable response from whoever you are talkin to. Either way it is a passive aggressive thing to say. I assume by you saying "NICE" and subsequently "overpriced JUNK" you are implying that you think that truck is in fact junk. Fine. Its junk. Another guy might say it is a great rig. Don't shoot the messenger. Maybe you could have just said I absolutely have to have an Eaton transmission and the repaint is an absolute no go......
  9. They definitely are if they are using a fuel can designed in 1930s Germany prioritized for then contemporary military logistics. I don't think there is any reason to have any sort of bias here. I have used and can easily obtain jerry cans. I would never use them unless the better alternatives were unobtainable.
  10. It does say the paint has orange peel in so I assume he had the bumper off to repaint. The description is too authentic to be AI in my opinion. Ok then. Good luck with your Yeti riding on a unicorn search....
  11. To be fair Bin Laden was known as the leader of al Qaeda. He was immediately singled out as Enemy #1 following 9/11. The War on Terror was not a formal declaration of war, rather an Authorization for Use of Military Force. The specific law passed in the House 420-1 and the Senate 98-0. The law ended up including no less than 36 specific entities as opponents. al Qaeda is listed immediately following the Taliban and Afghanistan at large. Obama sending troops to get Bin Laden was approved by Congress as the War on Terror did not formally end until Biden's administration. Whether or not sending the troops into sovereign Pakistan to get him was "legal" or not is murky.
  12. Saw this listing and thought of this thread. I don’t think the OP specified daycab or sleeper so I think it checks all the boxes other than having a Rockwell 10speed vs an Eaton. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1300979395116952/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post
  13. Remember George Bush and his Mission Accomplished speech? Capturing the leader is the easy part, ensuring the country doesn't turn into a chaotic mess worse than before is the hard part. What's preventing the cartels from taking over by filling the power vacuum? I hope there is a plan…….
  14. It says he logged on 12/21/2025. It’s been a while since I e seen him post but then again I haven’t been on much the past few months
  15. If you want a a real fuel can with a flexible funnel thingy in USA you have to opt for a type II style safety can pictured below. In my opinion the Jerry can is flawed design. They are top heavy and tip over in transport unless they are strapped down or setting in the proper bracket. In the USA it is typical to set things in the bed of a pickup truck and head down the road without restraints. A full Jerry can would be on its side in 10 seconds or less. I get it they most likely won’t spill if laid down but I wouldn’t want to do it on the regular or have to strap them down every time. The cylindrical cans pictured are next to impossible to have lay over in transit. Also, the Jerry can has the top handles parallel to the direction of pour. Horrible. Especially with the largest size. The top handle should be perpendicular to the direction of pour as pictured below. I’ve used both. I would not prefer to use jerry cans if I had other options.

  17. Proper gas cans are still manufactured. Most consumers would consider spending $70-100 for a single gas can ludicrous. They would rather just buy the junk and complain about it.... Made in Wellsburg, West Virginia. Essentially unchanged for probably 80 years at this point: 5 Gal Red Steel Safety Can for Flammables | Funnel | Type I | UI50FS | Eagle With that said I own three Eagle cans like the one pictured below. They are not safety cans because they do not automatically close if it were to be dropped. However, they do prevent evaporative emissions because any time I open the vent or fill nozzle plug get a very noticeable pressure equalization. The cans I have don't release vapors when not being used and will last at least 2 or 3 more lifetimes. It literally can't be improved upon. I have never purchased a gas can in my life. The three I have came with the first house I bought. I will probably never buy another one.
  18. I seriously always wondered how the twin cities came to have such a large Somalian population. It certainly isn't the weather. Its hard to believe ethnic Somalians would naturally migrate to Minneapolis. Their country is literally on the Equator and your telling me Minneapolis feels like home for them?
  19. Ray Sidella is one. He moved a truck for me back in 2022 from Delaware to Pittsburgh. At the time he made weekly trips to the Midwest back to East Coast. I don't know if he gets on here anymore but his user name is @mack mhe9. If you send him a PM he will gat an email notification. I think I still have his phone number written down somewhere.
  20. Well its not a loadstar but an R series with the single man cab. Its crazy. I was not even looking for internationals and this popped up in my search. Kind of strange that I mentioned it yesterday and have not seen one in years.... 1968 International R190 Series Single Center Seat Dump Truck - Commercial Vehicles - Glen Campbell, Pennsylvania | Facebook Marketplace | Facebook
  21. Has anyone ever seen he loadstars with the one man, center mounted cab for hauling long beams or pipe? There is a roof hatch to get in and out. I think IH made them before the loadstar but they are neat looking. Only ever saw one in real life.
  22. My 1994 RD has a mechanically governed E7. No ECM. It has a cable operated tachometer.
  23. pulled this off the internet. From the same dealership chain. Someone said they figured it was takin in 1981....
  24. Do you know if a Series 60 Detroit ever made it into a Superliner?
  25. From what I've seen the owner's manuals was a generic book like what comes with a passenger vehicle. It was called "operators handbook" and just gave general information as to how to operate the various switches and things of that nature. It was not vehicle (serial / VIN #) specific. What you are a looking for are electrical shop manual items. I'm not sure if every truck built came with a shop manual. I think it depended on what the customer wanted and probably cost extra. A truck's shop manual was a binder that was labeled with the truck's serial/VIN and contained a variety of different system specific shop manuals based on the components included in the truck's build probably based on what the customer wanted. I've seen ones that were only one binder thick and others that were 3 binders worth of material. Buying any old shop manual or some type of generic "600 series" shop manual and expecting it to have a wiring diagram for a specific chassis is probably futile.
