  1. is there enough tread left on the front drives to make it worth the effort to swap tires from front drive to rear drive ? attempt to see if tires are problem how are the rears wearing? pins/ bushings etc should show problem with rear drives also. being a tri-axle any consideration to pressure on lift axle- tooo much taking weight off first axle/not enough front drive scuffing
  2. if a starter spun "backwards" it would NOT throw out the bendix drive . high speed proper rotation causes the starter drive to throw out and engage flywheel, does not mean A starter can't be built to throw opposite rotation.
  3. guess it depends on what goes into the alcohol evaporator ;; why do you think its called ALCOHOL evaporator 😱 LOL
  4. weather calling for possible rain Sunday in CT. maybe it's a good thing 73 won't make Brooklyn ct show :: you don't want to get it wet LOL .looks better than museum quality. A+A+A+
  5. have seen some smokin hot thighs ; never smoked any sadly.
  6. I've heard of Auslowe . fact Australian Macks are different is good; variety is spice of life.
  7. alcohol evaporator with a glass jar on fire wall;; that's something not seen tooo often. nice looking job on trailer resto
  8. the AITM casting were much easier to work with then original resin castings from A I M (Jim Etter from PA ). I wasn't aware of Dave 's passing (AITM) till after there was an auction of his stuff. there is a site believe it's Big truck model builders ; I've never logged in to it. they might have knowledge of resin casting. think I bought last two B-73/75 L cab casting from Dave =AITM.
  9. now you guys have to stop this conversation!!! when I laugh this hard I start coughing uncontrollably;; YES i'm at that point now !!🤣🤣🤣 THANK YOU ever sooooo much JoJo for the picture of the rack ON the alum foil= that was a major debate at my younger daughters today when my "son-in-law had the chicken on alum foil while on the grill. showed the picture to know-it-all wife , first time ever she was speechless. LMAO
  10. model truck building for over 60 + yrs;; no words . beyond nice , beautiful . A Mack - RS700L besides. where did you get the cab, etc parts?? I have a couple of R700 hoods in stock from A I M -- Jim Etter (has since passed away) from the '70's. Thanks For the pictures.
  11. this is the BEST NEWS of the week-end and before. GO BUY THOSE LOTTERY TICKETS!!! LOL almost didn't log on tonight !!! dam glad I did. no road call from CT to sloan , BC< hope the picture shows springs AFTER removal not as they were while installed
  12. another sign of a complicated world. anti-compounding /121 / dual air systems . lets not forget how the electronic "advances" changed mechanical world.
  13. the word =spring - challenged us ole people. pictured a coil type spring : this is same as saying :I do in marriage🤣; you put it off long as you can ! but you will be pulling transmission bet. guess no lottery tickets for you today
  14. darn ;; your right install after. memory failure =blame old age . those are high tensel steel eye protection required.
  15. the "had to tap in sentence " would make more sense with the anti springs there. the word tap to one could mean different to another. back to another path on the recovery road ; one disc installed backward ? problem now could be with the adjustments moved around soo much , a simple issue may have been complicated.
  16. now I remember the rattle springs!! THANKS FOR PICTURE thin pieces of steel which you would bend to fit between inter plate and flywheel. don't see how they would create present situation. I have installed and also left out on clutch projects.
  17. far as pilot bearing = old seized will give problems . you installed a new one . if for some reason it fell out ::1-clutch would still work;2=partial fall out the trans wouldn't have gone in;;3= the flywheel was bad if bearing collar was worn to point of not holding a bearing, which you would have noticed installing bearing. statement holding my attention is the "I had to tap plate in" !!!
  18. a far out try would be to having truck on blocks /jacks or whatever securely safe;; place in gear with engine running start giving "jabs " to clutch pedal working it up and down. purpose would be to work intermediate plate in pressure / release while spinning. long shot the spinning centrifugal force and weight will work the crooked dogs.
  19. not alone on that one Jojo . springs should be part of the clutch disc or the anti rattle springs refer to the wedges placed on clutch pressure plate hold down bolts. can't be the springs located on clutch brake housing ??? also remember it was stated fiber on clutch brake was worn on one side ; doesn't have alot to begin with add on the grease.
  20. construction co in CT =Beard constuction had decked out B/DM's dumps similar to pictures. chrome all over. waterbury Mack ordered two black beautys had me install all sorts of chrome; ticket was waterbury mack never asked Beard first. goal was to take account away from west haven Mack. Allan Beard told waterbury to stuff the trucks he didn't want them. YES heads did roll on that loss.
  21. PICTURES ARE EXCELLENT . thanks . makes me wish I made the venture down there. I would have been easy to spot; look for the ole guy with a cane ,LOL
  22. real nice looking unit. A+A+
  23. I couldn't make the 4 hr trip to Macungie PA truck show from CT so I can't take a road call trip to Slocan BC . sure would like to:: I can't stand when a mechanical issue "defeats "me.
  24. they won't fallout. if they move enough to straighten out when you loosen then they will move enough to go crooked again. they don't settle. no groove to set in just round hole through flywheel.
  25. purpose of the dogs is to hold the intermediate plate making it act as a flywheel face. if the plate didn't slide the first disc against the flywheel it self would never disengage. If the clutch pedal is pressed down (2x4) can you go under side with along screw driver and move the clutch disc. should be able to see them through one of the bellhousing holes. might have to turn flywheel (by hand/ bar etc0 to see disc
