  1. It is anyway not the original trailer used when Hofmanm owned the truck. The original 600ton Talbert was rotting away at Allens Corner behind an Euclid R62 and was sold some years ago.
  2. If you are honest and look back in history all european came into the US illegal, or did somebody asked the native americans if they wanted the europeans to settle in their country?
  3. As "working man" or low wage worker I wouldn't want to live in the USA. I live in Germany, our education system is for free, even the universities. Everybody has a health insurance that does not cost a fortune and half of it is paid by the employer. We even have a goverment owned insurance system if you get unemployed. As low wage worker these are all things that save you from getting unemployed to homeless. Or from getting bankrupt because you are ill. And theoretically everybody has the same chance in education (in reality it still is easier for those from families with higher education). I'm a high educated university graduate working in quality management and having a wage in the top 10%. Therefore I have to pay the highest tax rate and highest healt insurance rate. But due to those free or low cost benefits I have in Germany I'm willing to pay highest tax rate. I faced unemployment twice, and was happy that the state jumped in. I'm having some chronic illness that would cost me a fortune in the USA and would lead to struggel even with the high wage I get. The state in Germany has a significant higher impact to our daily live as it has in the USA (even if the democrats would fullfill all there Ideas) still we have one of the highest degrees of freedom worldwide and you still can get wealthy with hard work (as long as you don't work for the wrong company).
  4. I give you an European perspective on where the Democrats and the Repulicans stand in comparision to the European political parties. The political views and aims of the Republicans would be seen in Europe as right wing politics reaching into the fare right, while the political view and aims of the Democrats are in Europe represented by political parties slightly right from the middle. Thats why I always have to laugh a bit if you call the Democrats, even does of the left wing, Commies. In Europe we have some political parties that are near beeing Commies or evolved from real communist parties. But they are far left in the european politcal spectrum. For many in Europe it is terrifying to see that a country that evolved from a united fight against a hugh problem (and showed unity in many crisis) is now diveded strongly in two parties in a manner that a civil war is more realistic than fighting a crisis united. But we see this strong seperation of politicals view also increasing in Europe. I see it as a result of todays politicans not beeing able to explain the complexe problems they face in a manner that most of the people not involved in this job can understand it. And those who speak in an understanable way do only offer simplifciations, agitation and even hatred
  5. The RD800 was offered in AWD configuration. Not only in military applications but also in civil. The Mack RM was also available with Mack V8 (E9)
  6. Double Ugly is a M75 that started its working life at Corbett Rigging & Hauling, there it was called Geronimo. After working von Corbett it went to Mashburn and then Bechtel. Several years ago it showed up for sale at Link Heavy Haul. then pictures showed up showing it working again still in orange and black without any lettering. Last picture I have shows with freshly painted red cab. After being sold by Link I lost the track of the orginal trailer that it had since Corbett times. Some years ago there was a red M70 for sale with an old Hoffman 300t Rogers trailer but with an different dolly as in the orginal configuration. I don't know where this set up came from since I did not find any old pictures showing this truck And then there ist the Hoffman M100. It also went to Mashburn and Bechtel and since then was parked somewhere in New York. I don't know if it survied hurrican Sandy. Its 600t Talbert landed in Allens Corner behind an Euclid R62 that started its working life with an impressiv 300t Eidal trailer in New Mexico. Keeping track of the smaller M-Series in Heavy Hauling (M15SX, M32SX and M45SX) is complicated since the amount is a bit higher in comparison to the LR(V)SX, M70SX, M75SX and M100SX.
  7. I looked through my photo archive. I found at least three Units with black chassis and red cab The Gerosa 100 (Details: pusher plate, additional steps between front fender and bumper, longer stepts on the right side, exhaust behind the cab, rear half fenders, turning light in fenders, two sets of front light, AC and beacon lights on the cab that were removed) This unit showed up as Marino and later on as Hake I've got a picture of a second Marino unit. (Details: pusher plate, some kind of oilfilter on the right side between front fender and bumper, name plate on the bumper, twin stacks through the hood) Later this unit has Aycock lettering. The third unit in this color scheme has the same logo as the second Marino unit but no Marino lettering. I did not find the logo on any other Marino picture. (Details: step plate between front fender and bumper, radiator guard, pusher plate, front light guard, twin stacks through hood, large fuel tank behind the cab) I've got a picture showing the later two units side by side with Aycock lettering. Aycock seems to had another unit (black/orange) showing other details I've got no picture of an Hallamore unit. But I've got pictures of an Hoffman unit, but these are to bad in quality to see many details (small fuel tank behind the cab). I think this is the later Duffy unit. Sievers had an LRSW that went to Mack Trailer That are all LRVSW/LRSW heavy haul units in the US I could find in my picture archive Hallamore got two Mack M-45SX, one is the ex Gerosa unit. Gerose had following big Macks: LRVSW (Gerosa 100, later Marino, Hake), M-45Sx (Gerosa 300, later Hallamore 230), M-75SX (Gerosa 400, later Mashburn then Bechtel 4, then went to south america)
  8. Gerosa had at least one LRVSW (Gerosa 100) and that went to Marino. And the truck shown in the first post ist the old Gerosa unit. Many details are unique to the Gerosa 100. Steps, blinker in the fenders, pusher plate (added by Marino) and many more.
  9. Since it has Chain drive it might be an FP. It had the Mack E cab and Hood with Chain drive.
  10. It is based on an DM600 but was build by the Dutch company FTF. Fitted with an Detroit Diesel 12V71. The radiator behind the cab is as far as I know used to cool down the transmission. I think 4 of this configuration were build, all for the Dutch heavy hauling company Mammoet. Only one did get the cab extension.
  11. It is only an M-15. Pretty easy to spot, since it doesn't got planetary rears.
  12. I would say that is the back end of a Rogers Wobble Wheel trailer.
  13. This Mack F models seems to be an F800 or F900. It got the typical F800/900 front "fenders" and steps. The pulling truck at 2:25min is a Faun with an new engine ( Warter cooled 480hp Daf Inline 6 instead of the original air cooled Deutz V12 with 480hp)
  14. Just a bit of combining information from various sources. To all trucks I mentioned there a pictures available on the internet. I'm not 100% sure on the information regarding the F985 and F995 because you can't see the engine without tilted cab But the F9956 and the two planidrive version F997 and F9976 are pretty easy to spot. Found some soruces that claim the marrocan army macks are F800, but I got some doubts about that.
  15. If you have a close look at the model production list published by Mack, you will see, that there were 5 different Versions of Mack F900. Two of them were all wheel drive Version. In total 72 Mack F900 where build. 45 of them were F985, I think those are the Certified Concrete trucks. Most of the 15 F9956 should be the trucks for the moroccan army. But there is at least one used as heavy hauler in skandinavia, which is currently in restauration. And one was used by G.Pelletier as logger. 5 F995 were build, one of them is the belgian G.Belin heavy hauler (The only belgian F900) These three version all have the 80k rears Now to those with Planidrive axles. 3 F997 were build, two of them are used by the iranian heavy haul outfit Iran Dena. And 4 F9976 were build. One of them was used by the spanish heavy haul outfit Transmosa. I'm sure this one was sold to Alibert/Istrans. There is on english hevay haul Mack F serie which could be a F900, but it differs from all other F900. It is in 6x4 version, but unlike the other 6x4 it doesn't got a 23k frontaxle, and it use 90.000lb Clark axles. It also got a sleeper cab with raised roof (like many european Mack F700). So I think it is a rebuild but it is not clear if it really based on a F900 and not an F700 or F800. That is all information I found about the F900.
  16. Are you sure it is not the orginal trailer Corbett had. I've got two pictures showing the M75 in Corbett livery with trailer. The pictures are not the best, but it clearly shows a trailer very similar (I would even say it is the same trailer) to the one it got now. Even some details are the same. As example the vin/maunfacturer tag is on the same position. I don't have the copyright of these pictures so I can't show them, but I know I found them on the internet. Was there ever a salesheet of the M100SX published? I still planing to build a scale model, but I've got no reliable and useful information about this truck.
  17. Hoffman had a Mack M100SX, sitting in Queens at the moment. This is the former Corbett Mack M75SX including the trailer it had when it was owned by Corbett. The old Gerosa Mack M75SX is also somewhere in South America. As fare as I know all three were once together at Mashburn. From the informations I got both M75SX had a Cummins VTA1710.
  18. Does anybody have a datasheet with drawing of the LYSW? Would need a high quality scan of the drawing to build a scale model. I'm a bit confused about this LYSW since the datasheet I found in the Internet (without drawing) claims the LYSW has an Mack FA 901 tubular frontaxle. This LYSW seems to have the Mack FA 801 I-beam front axle. Could also need a LRSW datsheet with drawing (both version the one with the round frontfenders and the one with the square frontfenders)
  19. It got a Detroit 12V71. It is a DM600 modified by the dutch company Floor, also known as FTF. As fare as I know they builded three DM600 with Detroit Diesel 12V71 engine for some local heavy hauling companys. The whole cab and hood is sitting higher because of the space the engine needs. The length of the hood is not changed.
  20. That's not very good for me, since I always wanted to build a 1:87 scale model of the M100. But without any spec this is a bit problematic.
  21. Sadly they don't have the spec sheets of the M32 and the M100. Was there ever a spec sheet of the M100 published?
  22. It could be an early M32SX. There seemed to be three 3axle M-Series with the split window cab. The M15, the M32 and the M45. The early M32SX had the 8 spoke front axle like the LR and the CL350. Later they seemed to have changed the front axle to the 6 spoke version which the M45 is using.
  23. Hello, matt hope you don't mind that I add a question to your thread. I also need help for a scalemdoel project. since there is no Mack E9 in 1:87 scale I want to built it. But I need some kind of drawing of the engine since without any scales I don't have a chance to hit the rigth proportions an size. Hope you guys can help me. Thomas
  24. You could find pretty many badges for this cab. The cab was a result of a cooperation of 4 truck companies and also was used by several small companies which build special-purpose vehicles. The 4 Companies who made build this cab where Magirus Deutz (later Iveco), Saviem (later Renault), Volvo and Daf. The Renault cab was also badged as Mack for the US-market, there was also a conventional version sold by Mack. Renault also had a big conventional with the cab, but this truck was not sold as Mack. The Volvo cab also was available in the US. A realy big conventional was build by Nicolas they used the Renault cab for an oilfield bed truck with 21R25 tires. The Renault cab also was used by a french construction an special-purpose vehicle manufacturer Thomas Constructeurs. Terberg a dutch construction truck manufacturer used the Volvo cab. There a variety of small manufacturers that used the cab is to big to keep the overview.
