  1. I got a friend who has a 94 ford; it was an old concrete truck it has the L10 cummins I think 300hp but has the eaton 7LL trans.; other than the weird shift pattern I think it does good for a dump truck; haven't pulled anything with but does good with 14 tons on it
  2. Thanks; can you tell by vin if it came with the stainless cups; might try & buy a truck & I would want to buy one that I didn't have to worry bout cup issues

I put the after treatment fuel shut-off valve on this morning & I'm getting some fuel now; cleared codes & tried regen, it started & ran little while & stopped; threw the light on & I got just PPID 329, FMI 4; so going to change 7th injector soon as I get a chance; unless you think it's got something else wrong; Mack place said this morning when getting that valve it was the hydro carbon doser module again or wiring to ground in harness bad; does this 09 have that hydro carbon doser module too?

Thank you for your help Mackteck689; I got a 7th injector yesterday before Mack closed but I going to put new valve on firist; that HEST light in instrument panel is not flashing its just solid; no red shutdown light on or wasn't; drove it back from Mack yesterday never derated; got an ex Mack tech suppose to come by just trying to get head start; thanks again

Well reason I knew I wasn't getting fuel I cracked that line after I cranked & no fuel; when I took block off firist time it was fuel in all lines cleaned & put back on & cranked, cracked line at injector little fuel there called my self trying to bleed it; mashed regen & it idled up & was doing the regen thing; but exhaust temp in cab showed around 600; didn't think that was hot enough; it ran for bout 20 minutes & same thing said needed to manual regen & I tried again same exact same; then it threw the PPID 329 FMI 4 & when I tried to regen it wouldn't let me; so I went to checking & found when took line off injector no trace of fuel, went to block & no fuel coming from out side but had some to in side
  8. Ok, that is it; its a block; the young man at Mack called it the hydro carbon doser module; its got a 4 pin looks like sensor also; is it anyway I can check that valve
  9. Looks to me like getting fuel to the doser module but looks like that sensor that had the oil in it; is the one that lets fuel leave & go to injector; I blew through and it's clear
  10. got code PSID 47; FM1,12 code; was told probably hydro carbon doser module possibly needed cleaning; pulled off & found only thing looked bad some oil in 2 prong sensor; cleaned everything up good reinstalled & still want regen; checked & no fuel to 7th injector; also now have PPID 329 FMI 12 code; & it want let me regen; any suggestions would be appreciated

I know of a 1988 Rmodel bought new from local company & sold to a friend that I have driven; it had econodyne on the hood & gold dog on the hood & mirrors; it also an all Mack component; I can't imagine this company special ordering gold hood ornament; although it had to have been order special; it had 5 speed trans with 555 gears; reverse was way to fast hard to back up; low gear was to high too; but when you got started it would roll; it would out run & pull his 91 CH with 9 speed; both had 300 engine but R was all mechanical & CH had electronics
  12. Worked on ts24's; a company had some (double barrels) detroits, 12V71TA in front & 8V71N in the rear; my best rememberings was the left head on the V12; they were a bitich; they also had some with cummins power, they were single engine; cummins power K series I think
  13. On top of all that; you just bought the truck from them; & I understand the used truck deal "bought & sold as is"
  14. $591.00 labor & 0 results VS 1 phone call & 100% results; but shade tree fix Hate to have to pay your phone bill; how much did tucker charge? Back when I did mechanic work; we bent over backwards to help people; if we didn't have new part to fix & had used one we would let them use til new part came in; IF they were getting us to get new part in; they wouldn't been charged anything til new part came in and installed & fixed; that was back in the 90's; They are still in business
  15. bulldogmack42 hope everything works out for you!! Don't like to be lied to either!! Tri-State Truck Center in memphis has A "master mechanic" that will lie to you!!!! Don't have anything good to say about their service manager either!!!

It happens too me; not big Internet man, but if I am googling something and you find that BMT has a response or subject where someone has had topic; if I punch it up its goes to adult finder deal; I just hit the arrow that takes you back & try 2 time & goes straight to BMT story; has not ever done it on my favorite list; or just going straight into BMT
  17. If you cut the lock tab on a 09 model truck would you have to reprogram the computer?

I have heard that they made 24v 71, told it was 2 12v's hooked together; also 20v 149, that were 3 blocks; 2 6v & 1 8v; never worked on any of those 2; but all other of dd v engines; always told by older guys 8v71 was suppose to replace 6-110; all the people that had the 6-110 loved them, only worked on them in tugs, drag lines;
  19. All 16v detroits 71,92,149 had 2 blocks, 2 cranks, 4 camshafts, 4 heads ,and 2 blowers. 12v71 had 1 piece block, one crank ,2 cams,2 heads, 2 blowers; except 149 they had a head for every cylinder

  21. I think main thing is to have a dealer or mechanic that HAS knowledge on these newer trucks
  22. Thanks a lot ; I haven't made deal with them yet; found another just trying to find best deal; both 09 the other is 485 with 18 speed & 386 gears; both all Mack which is what I want
  23. Well I like them; worked for DD dealer in the middle 80's through the 90's; worked on all of them; so if I can help be more than happy too; know more bout them than a Mack; I did find my 92 service manual so if you need I'll send it too you;
