  1. Hello all, I have a pain in the butt truck that keeps giving me issues. It's an 89 Cm422, mid liner style, but class 8 heavy duty. Anyway finding parts is pretty much impossible, now I have developed a coolant leak, from the assembly that the coolant filter screws on to. It's about 5-6" diameter round cylinder maybe 13" long, off the back side of it it 90's up and looks to go into a coolant manifold off the side of the block? Anyway the 90 cracked at the gasket fitting at the top. I have no idea where to even start looking for this part if I can even find it. Any thoughts or help?! I can try to get some photos tomorrow however it's pretty covered in grim so might be hard to see.
  2. I have an 88 cm422, milliner style single axle dump, I need a few parts that I can not find at all, I found one place who has a parts truck but I have been trying to work with them for 5 months and getting no where. I need the wiper pivot assembly that goes through the firewall. Mine is all rusted and I can get it free so I have no wipers. Have to pick when I move equipment and watch the rain showers. I also need the rear two body mounts, possibly a few other odds and ends if I find a parts truck, speedo steering wheel, possibly air tanks. Wipers are the major importance part I need to get. Any ideas??
  3. Thanks, asking 14k for the truck. Looks really clean. 575k miles or so. I gotta go drive it and see how the 7 feels, it's just a straight 7, no low or anything else. Seems like the same as my 88 cm400, but with more hp. Thanks for the inputs
  4. Thanks, I figured was a road tractor, doesn't really bother me, I mostly need it for hauling equipment, 28k excavator and a 20 ton trailer. Not much material in the dump box. The 7 speed just seems not enough for pulling a load around.
  5. Hello, I found a 95 ch613 tandem dump truck I am looking at, it has the e7 350, in it, with a eaton 7 speed Trans. Question is how is that Trans with the e7, and in a dump, not gonna be used for dirt moving much, mostly for pulling equipment around. Will be plated at 54k so never heavier than that. I know there are a few things to tune the engine a little I like the truck but just wondering on the Trans. My current single axle mid liner Mack is a 7 speed and it does ok. Just need a little more power for some larger equipment. Thanks for any thoughts
  6. I have an 88 Mack cm-422, seems it's impossible to find parts for this truck. I need a radiator, mines getting pretty corroded, and is over heating on longer trips, I found radiators for the cs model midliners, will those work? The body looks the same just have no idea on difference between them and mine. Any help is greatly needed
  7. Hi all, I have a cm422 1989 milliner. 35000gvw, I'm new to this plating for a trailer and weight. I'll be pulling a 25900lbs trailer 10 ton equipment trailer and weights 5900lbs. With a backhoe roughly 15k lbs. I was gonna get plates for 42000 is that right? Truck weights 15000 empty. Choices are 32, 36 or 42. 36 didn't seem enough. Thoughts?
  8. I did finally track down a shop to rebuild it! Was stuck 100% open. Hopeful fixes all the issues
  9. Maybe someplace else, Mack dealer said no rebuild kits or parts available
  10. I found #4 has a bad injector, however Mack dealer said probably can't get one. He checked a price of 700 but time was not certain on if he could even order it. Bosch injector model kbal100s52 anyone know where I can get one?
  11. Hello everyone, working on getting a truck back on the road. 1988 Mack cm422. Has the 06.20.45 engine. I got the truck running and filters changed and everything seems to finally all be working. Major issue is the engine smokes a blue eye burning haze all the time. At idle, on the fuel, off fuel, driving sitting still just always. Could it be injectors? Haven't done a road test yet, just around the yard, seems to have ok power, I know these engines can be hard to find parts for. Truck hasn't been on the road in probably 15 years or so. Just been sitting around the yard. Trying to get my company started back up and this is the starting point. So anyone have thoughts on the smoking issue? I do most all my repairs and testing so as long as it's not something major I can handle it. Just wasn't sure exactly where to start. Just on the fence with keeping and trying to fix up the truck or selling any buying another Attached is a photo
