  1. Its not an aftermarket computer or anything else it started when they replaced it with a OE computer.
  2. Paul it happens in the yard but the first time was 20 miles away and years before it happened in our old yard.
  3. I was put in a RD tractor at work this week its a computer controlled engine and a strange thing happens to it at 4:30 every day it starts to lope like its shutting down then catches itself it will do that rythemically every couple seconds. The truck starts and runs like a champ everyday until 4:30 PM doesn't matter what time you start it or how long you run it the lope starts everyday at the same time. The truck was driven by a driver who was a slob and spilled a 32 ounce drink on the dash drowning the computer and shorting it out so they bought a new computer and installed it and from day one this issue has started this truck sat in the yard for ten years with dead batteries and when starting it up after all that time it still had this problem mack couldn't tell the mechanic at the shop why it does this. Anyone ever hear of something like this the head mechanic is going to disconnect the computer and unhook the batteries for a couple hours hoping to set the time back a couple hours so it has a longer run time anyone ever hear of something like this?
  4. Its a nice driving truck real nice with the A/C I'm not to tired after a day of driving to do things around the house after work it has a 350 with an eight speed.
  5. They finally rolled the truck out of the shop Monday afternoon it was a straight truck used to deliver concrete septic tanks not much for miles were ever put on it so it sat for 10 years in the back lot unused so they cut it down and made a tractor out of it. We have another truck they did this to a 94 RB which I drove a few years ago then I worked in the yard loading trucks for a season and the driver of my old truck wrecked it. They put it back together and offered it back to me I wouldn't drive it with screws holding the headlight buckets into the hood so they built this one for me the head mechanic knew I would take care of it and keep it clean so he went over and above to make it a nice truck.Im having trouble shifting it because theres no wear in the trans still pretty stiff not like my previous truck with 775.000 on it which almost shifted its self but its nice to have air conditioning again I'm way less tired after driving all day.
  6. Probably union thugs messing with the scabs typical of how they operate.
  7. Checked the pinion yoke today its junk anyone have a spare they would sell its 6 inches wide where the caps fit into it fits on a 2 inch 10 spline out put shaft 2 3/4 where it slides into the seal.
  8. I just scrapped a 237 block I wish I would have known it had all the studs still in it.
  9. I was just curious about the engine the truck sits out in new mexico so I can guarantee its rust free to bad its not dent free.
  10. Found this for sale listed as a F786F1991 what engine would this truck have in it not real pretty but real low miles.
  11. They have been busy picking the winter wheat and oats here too most are baling the straw now.
  12. Not much on that old truck that isn't smashed or dented up trailer too.
  13. Looks like I'm going to buy the transmission from this guy he wants 300 for it came out of a 75 R model he says its in good useable condition I'm going to pick it up next week is 300 dollars a good price for a six speed? I still dot know what model trans it is he says I may still have to shorten the drive shaft due to the longer cone on the back for the output shaft.
  14. The trans I'm looking at came out of an 83 R model.
  15. Same problem with my superliner if I don't disconnect the batteries they go dead changed out the alternator still have the same problem.
  16. Ok I will check them I do need something lower than I have now though.
  17. My RS has a five speed and that is great for its intended use but I use it for a parade truck and need something with a double reduction . I have to use the clutch way to much during parades and I notice the nine speed in my truck at work has a double reduction and that would be perfect. I was offered a six speed but know nothing about them and don't know if it would be any better than what I have now.
  18. Anyone have a spare yoke comes off the rear pinion shaft of the front carrier for the intermediate drive shaft had a hunch it was junk when I saw the cover of the u joint cap welded on.
  19. Looks like what I think was one of currans brokers turned his truck into a side dumper Friday morning at 47 and 20 came to the intersection the guy just climbed out the driver door must have just happened grade nine spread all over the road. Looks like he was trying to make the left turn light and hit the intersection too fast and over he went.
  20. Bolted my dual exhaust right to the cab since its a solid mount cab anyways cant see the other stack its hidden by the horn stanchion.
  21. I had no doubt King Madigan wouldn't let the road projects go unfunded and let his union buddies down you could have bet the farm on it and really raked in the cash. This state is really a sorry example of democrat tax and spend policys if it wasn't as serious as it is one would think its a joke and it just may be the jokes on us.
  22. I bought a superliner 2 cab to put on my superliner 1 they sent the airbag and valves with the cab but I may not use it as its going to be a straight truck now. I'm going to remove the new way and slide a camelback suspension under it I'm probably going to do that over the long weekend next week.
  23. Manders is pretty proud of their parts pricewise go to heavy truck parts .com and lots of them will come up by different salvage yards you can shop price some will actually deal with you and cut their prices.
  24. Got to love Illinois the democrats repay the unions for dumping hoards of cash into their re election campaigns by writing into law any contract over a million dollars cannot be bid non union. So its not a mystery a contract under a million dollars is a pittance now days so jobs are bid tight because of the overbearing labor cost and sometimes they try to slide by not right in my book but it happens Christensen got hammered for it years ago too.
  25. Similar to an old military bridge truck or ten ton.
