  1. Most of our newer visions at work had the axle housings crack the springs had worked loose too.
  2. It never hurts to take a look you need to go to Michigan and bring the old beltz truck back home.
  3. Yes it has an END 673 and a hi lo five speed it may have been a single axle semi tractor originally now it has a 14 foot dump bed on a stretched frame still a single axle drive line supposed to be all mack. The guy wants 2K for it with the superliner restore going on I really don't think Im going to be able to buy it but it doesn't hurt to look.
  4. Im going to look at an old 66 R dog Thursday its local that's the only reason Im going but the VIN is listed as R607T1753 that seems a bit low to me.
  5. These new stands are designed for easier installation like you stated its a pain spreading the rear of the frame to slide the new one in.
  6. The military gets rid of pallets of 24 inch tube type tires many either new or real close to that for some screaming deals.
  7. Pretty much a parade of trucks hauling from seegers in Hampshire to CP most of the summer used to see IH farms2 just about everyday running down route 20.
  8. They are budds wheels I have six of them here.
  9. Mine on the driver side is a bit rough I have to take all the buttons off to replace the cardboard backing they sell snap buttons on ebay and that's what Im going to use when I put it back together.
  10. They got the aluminum wheels on the front today after the fifth wheel gets put on next week they will put the rears on.
  11. You can get the diamond quilt vinyl I checked into it Im going to restore the original red ones in my truck I have been working on them here and there the color is the kicker. Usually the stuff only comes in white and black I ordered some red but they cancelled the order as its not made anymore in quantity. If they are just faded they make some good vinyl colors paint I have used it before its pretty good stuff.
  12. I liked that spare it did me good only one break down all summer from a new kid in the garage putting belts on wrong that's pretty good for a truck with over 700K on the clock. Now I will be back to going back to the yard after supper to wash the truck I like washing it down when the second shift mechanics are there less hectic. Hopefully I will be back sometime next month probably running a loader or backhoe until we go full speed ahead doing the yard runs of gravel.
  13. I will be hauling stone with it mostly from Hampshire to elgin I will get more pics as it progresses.
  14. Im not real sure of the year I know they bought it brand new 350 nine speed 44000 rears 20000 front axle pretty heavy built truck it has the computer controlled engine.
  15. My employer is rebuilding and repainting this truck for me to drive this coming season its pretty hard to see how it shines now with the concrete dust all over it the things only been in there a week and that's how much dust it has accumulated already they had to clean the rust jacked frame up fixed ar rebuilt what was broken it is a low mileage truck that sat in the yard for years. It has a computer controlled engine and was used as a delivery truck for septic tanks it had a real long frame which they cut down new fifth wheel will be here next week. They did all the paint work in house they have a new chrome mack OEM bumper sitting on the shelf for it new painted wheels inside it will have polished alcoas on the outside the muffler guard was a spare I had sitting around here. I will get some more pics as they progress it looks like its going to be a pretty nice ride when its done.
  16. They could have trimmed the fender wells too I notice they all have fender extensions maybe because of wider tires.
  17. I think the original idea for the shims is so they could use the same stand in single frame trucks they built it out to fill the space where the inner frame rail would have been.
  18. I just cant seem to get why the goofy sunvisors these guys put on trucks with such class.
  19. I was going to get a plate for each side I don't think those shims cover enough surface area.
  20. You beat me to it I was looking for that brochure Im sure the placement into the frame and shimming isn't going to be a problem.
  21. Thanks I will check it out but I would be willing to bet the 50 inch trunnion tube is for aluminum frame trucks.
  22. Here is a picture of an aftermarket trunnion stand looks like a lot of shimming to install this I just didn't want to buy something I wasn't going to be able to use I believe my frame is 34 inside rail to rail.
  23. Brad other potential problem may be that the frame being an inch and a half wider may interfere with the movement of the springs and brake chambers.
