  1. We have been lucky down here with our common rail engines , other than software and PM sensors we have had zero issues. Hopefully it stays that way!
  2. New bulletin released last week on the 20EE code on the common rail engines. Very detailed info. Hopefully they got yours figured out.
  3. P20EE is a NOX code which could be caused many different things. We have not seen this code here with our 17/18 common rail engines but have seen it on older trucks. Anything from EGR, turbo, injector to the DPF or SCR "hot box" could be the cause. There is a bulletin on it but mostly goes over making sure you do the tests correctly and not skipping steps and what info gets reported to Tech Support for review.
  4. My buddy's newest GU is coming in with full air controls for the bed unlike his other GU's . His driver requested it due to thatsvwhat he's used to. We will see how it sounds when it gets here in a few weeks.
  5. I will pass this info on my my buddy who has 3 GU's with MP8/ Allison. I'm pretty sure he has the cable up/down controls.
  6. There are 2 fuse boxes , one on top of the dash and the other by clutch pedal inside on the fire wall.
  7. For the Nox code being FMI 13, replace the outlet nox sensor, it will be the one with the black connector . On nox sensors always remember , "Grey in the front and Black in the back". The newest nox sensors have a raised fence around the outside of the body , casted into the housing , remember to do a learned data reset or sensor calibration after changing sensor
  8. Pull the intake temp/boost sensor and blow the soot off of it and retry. If no luck I gotta bulletins on SPN 105 FMI 2 . It says to replace turbo wheel speed sensor , doesn't make sense but that's what it said
  9. Bigger engine and bigger hood = more weight. I'd say 98% of our customers here have no problem with 505 being the biggest HP they can get. They are more interested in how much the total package weighs. Less truck weight = more freight, corn , wheat or what ever you can haul.
  10. Sad thing is Volvo has been using this same set up back in the D12 days(12-15 years ago or more).
  11. A few months back they had us quit using graphite paste and only rub some oil on the injector seating area. Last time I checked, we are back to using graphite paste but only a very very small amount. I need to pull it back up in Impact and see if they changed their minds again! Lol
  12. Nope . Other than at school, we have never pulled the valve cover off a common rail engine here. A few Particulate matter sensors and software have been the only problems so far . And we have several running around here.
  13. I just put cups in a 2017 pre-common rail engine last week. It can happen to any of them.
  14. Welcome to the wonderful world of the AI engine. What's the last 6 of your VIN and I can check some stuff on it in the morning
  15. Did you flow test the 7th injector? When testing it with tech tool it should "chirp" and pulse/mist fuel. Not a constant stream of fuel
  16. I believe Mack still has the manuals on E-media on their website. I bought 5 or 6 different service manuals for the Freedom right before the truck came out. Turns out between our 3 dealerships, we only got one Freedom truck to sell.
  17. Your correct , you can't on a non SCR truck. I think we had to update the dash cluster software onthe older ones. Let me check my notes in the morning
  18. There is a bulletin on soot ratio stuck on 140% and it is do a crystal sublimation regen and soot ratio will drop
  19. I think you have to do a crystal sub regen to get soot to drop on some of the trucks.
  20. What is the soot ratio before and after the last regen? Those temps sound good.
  21. RD's with ETECH engines have a serious flaw inside the cab with the way the VECU is mounted. If you pull down the kick panel in front of the passenger seat. You will find the VECU and ABS ECM. From the factory the black plastic VECU with the harnesses 3 plug in's facing up. If this is the case , water from leaking windshields drip right into the VECU. The VECU needs to be facing down. If yours is facing up. Pull the 3 plug in harness connections and check for green pins and water damage. This causes throttle drop out and engine not turning off when the key is switched off.
  22. Yep . FMI 5 is open curcuit. Bendix has all their manuals online for free also
  23. As Mack Tech . Pump timing needs bumping up 1.5 degrees over what the valve cover says but not any more or it will over heat in the summer. Injectors need refreshing or replacing . Clogged muffler is a possibility. Pressure test the complete intake system. Blown intake manifold gaskets . The air compressor intake could be on the boost side of the turbo/intake , leaks there will hurt performance
  24. Probably 40 quarts but there was an option for a 55 quart pan on the latter 460E and 460P engines . This is the ASET AC engine only in the 2004-2007 CH CX CHN and CXN models
  25. Seen it alot here lately. But I believe the update is out now. I think Tech Support has to turn on the download for that truck via E-service. But you never know as this could be for a different/new issue they are having. Did they give you a fault code number?
