  1. Just do what you can do, well theres less of a hole there than when you started filling the hole All of this body work looks crap until a coat of paint is applied Even plastering (dry wall) and preparing a room to paint looks crap until it's the one colour, I just glad none of my houses rooms are in full gloss and out in the sun Paul
  2. 37 F Bob as I converted it for the other side of the world 37 C isnt to bad, a bit warm but still workable temp Paul

  4. I dunno bugger all about fiber glass But it looks the goods to my untrained eye Paul
  5. I have a very loose plan in mind Fly into JFK, and head loosely for Cline landing in Alberta Canada, then to L.A., then New Orleans and back to New York What I do in between is pretty much unplanned Tim Maikshilo from the forum has sorted a set of wheels for me Wanna see mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument, Grand Canyon, and what ever else tickles my fancy So I reckon we can probably catch up Paul
  6. Now the Inaminka Road house out in the dead heart country was brilliant back in the 80s and 90s stop there at night and the bloke running show would great you with a cold can, had a huge fire going out side and after a few drinks no one was a stranger A top place, haven't been there since the mid 90's
  7. I can tell yah the worst place I have ever stopped for tucker was Belyando Crossing Road House My god the steaks are like a bit of retread from the 70s Showers were dear as all get out, however theres not a lotta choice and it is better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick Anyway, all first world problems really Paul
  8. Bloody good job getting it sorted, probably need some fine tuning once driving about, but your well on the way now Top job Paul
  9. Well no need to swing by to sort this out now Never know I might just swing by in a couple of months to say gudday Paul
  10. 16 weeks will roll on by pretty quick Paul
  11. Whoa boy Hang on a moment before just chucking a bucket full of coin at this Some really basic fault finding With full air pressure, put your foot hard on the brake pedal AND HOLD IT THERE Once the air gauge changes with the air use of air, does the pressure slowly drop or does it stay constant If it doesn't drop slowly you dont have any major leaks and the brake chambers don't need changing Looks like these are S cam brakes With no brake application NO FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDALPEDAL You should be able to just pull the slack adjusters by hand The slack adjuster should pull out the rod to the can (brake chamber), when let go it should spring back in quickly, almost with a snapping action If these don't, the S cams or the rollers on the shoes are binding and the assembly will need disassembling, cleaning, lubricating and replacement of worn bushes etc This is simple work and cost virtually nothing but time and as a bonus you get to learn about things Some other quick advice for what its worth Pull the wheel and hubs and brake drums as a complete unit A pallet jack comes in handy for this If you don't have a pallet jack A board greased up is next most common thing Either way pulling the hub and wheels as one is the simpleset and easiest way Paul
  12. Go to about the 25 minute mark, or watch the whole movie to see how simple the Australia was that I was a young man in Paul
  13. Aussie movie "Return Home" R model fuel tanker pays a visit, a wee bit of air start action and all Paul
  14. Ask if she's hopping in the shower to wash your back, probably just get you into more trouble Heck your already im this much trouble, why stop now 🤣🦘 Paul
  15. Great job Get out and enjoy it Paul
  16. In the mean time if the CRC/brake clean shows a leak a big dollop of grease will seal up the shaft to prove it's sucking air Even if the CRC/brake clean jobby shows nothing shoving grease everywhere will help show any possible air leaks That been said I reckon theres a blockage in the carby from what we know so far Paul
  17. Never worked on these motors so Im not gunna be of any real help, anything I say is just thinking out aloud So I need to just ramble a bit I believe you can rule out mechanical as the motor has been rebuilt You can rule out the injector because you swapped it I think it wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest that the valve burnt because of something wrong and not wear and tare So it really only leaves the electrical side of the injection system, (I am assuming the injectors are fired eelectrically ?) Is there a high resitance connection causing the voltage to be lower than needed and as such the injector is firing a bit slower ? I have no idea if this is even possible but just throwing a idea out there Lot's more smarter people with these than me on here Paul
  18. I think any of the ratios would be fine, a 12 speed in deep reduction is really really slow and you can break the drive line if your rough in deep reduction So I can't imagine any situation where it won't be lower geared enough with any of the ratios suggested Paul
  19. Lawn is something I am not much good at, I can make it green but never worry about the weeds Miss Molly would enjoy sleeping on that lawn Paul
  20. I don't think I have used either or any other such thing on a Mack They just fire right up if the air start isn't frozen Mind you our cold in Australia isnt very cold by most countries standards Paul
  21. Maybe check out this bloked video Not a truck but shows how to get rid of the drone etc, without reducing the awsome noise Yeah it's a car but the same principles apply I reckon Paul
  22. Well this trucks on youtube now Apparently the Boston trucker was there and a this truck made it into YouTube Haven't finished watching the video but I did pick up on this fine machinin the background Happy days Matt, if even it was a tad moist Paul
  23. I reckon it be driven out But if you have cross locks ?? I remember a mate had axles out for some reason His son, maybe only 2 or 3 years of age put sockets in the axle housing to help his daddy Daddy shoved the axle and the sockets and all ended up im the middle 😄 Gotta love them kids Paul
  24. Autocar's were never a very common brand in Australia, used primarily as really heavy duty type of truck, road trains and heavy haulage Sounds like it's going like a rocket Matt Dunno what the speed limit is in the U.S. but you would do your ticket in Australia at 78 MPH Enjoy Paul
  25. There's a joint about a hour away that wrecks headers (combine harvesters)and farm tractors Thinking some of those had pretty good seats, maybe a matching pair there the Princess can make a new cover for Want low back type of deal, Steiger and Versatile tractors had pretty flash seats, even the 86 series Internationals had pretty good seats Paul
