  1. You are right, tires were in much better shape than I thought, I drove it there and it would have made it back here just fine. I hope to take it to York in the spring. Just have to find a way to back the darn thing if I need to. Didn't have much success with that. Made it back O.K.

  8. Leaving Richmond Fri. evening to go out to Denver and bring it back to the Museum, is 52' long so will have fun getting it on a 53' step deck. Going to try and get the second trailer on backwards on the step and then head the truck on. Will send some pictures Mon. or Tue. Looking foward to seeing it at the shop. It will be the third of his there, and they are all great.
  9. Went to the sale today and got it. Paid too much, but they don't make them anymore. New daily driver
  10. Just happened to see this thread. Was working on a 3406 with wiped out thrust washers this week, had an Eaton, the new washers would not go in, unless I loosened the bell housing bolts. Pulled engine out to see why not enough crank end play. Found out that someone had put a new clutch in it, and had put on the snap ring on the pilot bearing like a Mack Tranny uses, removed snap ring and tapped pilot bearing into flywheel, put engine back in and had the proper crank end play. The input shaft was pushin the flywheel foward because of the snap ring. All good now, putting liners in, but thought it might help somebody else. Was scratching my head for about 3 hours.
  11. Going to auction to bid on this next Sat. Can already see my welding machine and tools on it. Maybe be my new daily driver. Depends on who is there, lot bigger piggy banks than mine. Dave

  14. Logan works a couple days a week, does a great job on the research and making all the display signs, also runs a scrubber over almost all the 70,000 square feet every day he works. Really good with visitors as well. Takes a bunch of dedicated guys.
  15. OD, great pictures. I have only been working on Saturdays since Suzie has been sick. Keith Jones wants to preserve history and see people enjoy it. He is a good guy and good to work for. Sorry we missed you at Winchester, have not been able to go since Macgungie. Next year for sure. Bones is the Curator at the museum And does a great job on all the displays, really good guy. The best part to me is sharing it here with everyone.Have to make a couple trips soon for more" stuff", as soon as I'm comfortable leaving. It will continue to grow. Thanks for all the nice comments
  16. You are absolutely right, don't know where my brain was. Dave
  17. I really like it a lot, the process of getting a Title is frustrating, I would overhaul the engine than work on the title process. I will check and see if they ever titled it in their name and a duplicate could be obtained. Don't know Maryland laws. Dave
  18. That is a great looking truck. I'm doing some checking on it. Thanks Dave
  19. 1950 F7 started the F Series line
  20. This was my daily driver up to about 8 years ago, now it is a 72 GMC I bought because that is the year we were married, still isn't completely done, but is dependable. Too much work too little time.
