  2. How many different shades of green did Mack have for the interiors of their trucks? The paint couldnt have been all the same shade for all those years! What aftermarket spray paints have you used? Are you happy with the results?

  5. It is a small town just south of Cincinnati. You really wouldnt think your in KY. Northern Ky is a conglomeration of small towns. You cant tell when you leave one and get into the next. It is very close to the Cincy intl airport( The cincy airport is in Ky in case you didnt know. A larger city which borders Hebron is Florence Ky Best of luck Bobby Covert

  9. I drove many MH cabovers at UPS. The drivers pretty much loved them. You had a built in sleeper with that big doghouse. Tons more room than the F-models (referred to as hardbodies) The oldest ones were equipped with a hydraulic clutch. , no power steering, no cruise. The last of them were equipped with side fairings, cruise and power steering. and a dry type clutch. The power steering felt so loose after not having it that it was a little scary. We still have one in Lexington Ky. It is just used on ocassion to move trailers into the shop. Iwatched them go out on trailers a few years ago. It was the first time I ever saw them sell any of the equipment and not strip it and crush it.
  10. Where are you in Kentucky. Iam in lexington . I like the sound of turning one of those Cruiseliners into a motorhome. Thanks Bobby Covert
  11. I always knew Phantom 309 was a B-model. Now I have seen the sketches to prove it!
  12. If you had to tell someone that they werent original how bad could it be? I saw the originals at the Mack Museum in Macungie Pa. If Iam not mistaken they were made of Walnut.
  13. Do you know how to tell if a wine is good? You have to like the taste!

  15. Oh i forgot to tell you this. There are some pictures of my dads mack after it was fixed on David Smiths trucks page The pics are titled Covert Mack. My mom sold it to my uncle after the wreck .Thanks Bobby
  16. She is looking good. Makes my heart beat just a little faster. If you were to keep her what would you do to her first? I cant believe how easy I found this in the gallery. Thanks Bobby
  17. The mack museum can tell you anything you want to know about your truck when it was built. Including who it was built for. They will most likely send you a build or line sheet if you ask them Good Luck. An R-700 was one of the largest R-models built
  18. I have seen one of those steel front R-models. It looked just like the DM-600 steel front only longer and it wasnt offset. It pulled a coal bucket.
  19. really nice interior Do you hate it when they paint them purple etc. inside I do.
  20. I know they have the records. I dont know if they can find it for you without the serial # though. Contact the Mack Museum.I got the line sheet from my Dads b model years later. It was quite a thrill for me to see his signature on the order for the truck as he had been gone for many years before. GOOD LUCK
  21. Dont forget to make her green on the inside. If the Mack turns out as well as the shop its parked in look out!
  22. Iam sorry that I didnt respond to you sooner. I take spells in getting on the internet. Anyway, the poster that iam speaking of has got to be your Mack. It is available from ART.COM it is a 16x20 poster and I think I gave about 25 for it I need to get it framed .Truck art is hard to come by so I jump on it whenever I see something I like
  23. Its a DM600 with a fiberglass front hood. As you you look at it from the front the cab should be offset to the right a couple of feet. It was a selling point of improved visibility for the driver. (similar to driving a cabover) They also made this model with a steel front. It had squared off fenders and a butterfly hood. It was considered for more severe service,The cab will still be offset on this model too. It is a nice looking unit.
