  1. Looks great- and I like the painted headlight buckets!-as well as the new roof on barn! Will miss you this weekend. About 25 trucks there already as of this afternoon-including Brian T's new RD 800 with huge planetary axles-looks like its about 9'wide!
  2. Hah! I guess your right. In this case "Old Days" refers to 1998 when Jackass Jaq Nassar gave the heavy truck business away..time flies 24 years ago. And my company bought some trucks from Bridgehaven-now Gabrielli. Interstate never did as well as Bridgehaven IMO
  3. I think I posted a shot of this before. Friend of mine at time owned 3 JD locations and this was oone of two tandem tractors he had to make deliveries, move inventory. Had belonged to a farm account that bought it new to haul silage. Minimal mileage. In any case, he sold his business to one of the gorillas with many locations-big fish swallow small fish-sad state of affairs. He kept this thou and he continues to stay busy moving equjipment as well as hauling his "pulling" Deeres. He told me the other day-wherever he goes he gets stopped by guys who say.."if you ever want to sell call me!" In particular in Maine- in old days there were two Heavy Duty Ford dealers who did very well. Lot of old timers still loyal to the brand-Bryan's LTL 9000.pdfBryan's LTL 9000.pdf
  4. My town has a clam for a 42? Cat. IMO looks like limited versatility- yes good for mucking out manholes/ sumps-if opening big enough. But a thumb? you can pinch a 15" branch or a 24" log.
  5. For sure on triple nickel Fords. Before Ford sold the business I had a friend who sold Deere construction. He said once he lost a customer to Ford he never got them back. Fords were lot of bang for the buck.
  6. And to add to this mess,. idiot Brandon instead of suspending his war on the US energy industry, he is urging increasing ethanol concentration in gas. So more grain gets diverted to fuel and he will claim he is "working to lower gas prices". He refuses to do anything that will piss off the liberal left.
  7. Beautiful-and you don't even need a 55 gallon drum in back seat of a '48 Ford to transport!😎
  8. 3 markerlights vs 4?
  9. As usual ..all good, funny and too accurate😎
  10. OD Back to your sunflower shot. We made one trip to Italy (Tuscany) once. Never forget driving on whatever the super highway is called that runs the entire length of the country. Looking ahead I see huge field off to right -nothing but a sea of green-finally check my rear view (making sure some idiot is not coming up in back of me at 100 mph!) and see nothing but a sea of yellow. I guess sunflower oil is a big export crop there.
  11. Guys- thx for comments. I finally bought an Evolution 380. Should have it next week. I have a big 7" Black and Decker angle grinder that must be 50 years old...a heavy brute made when B & D made true commercial stuff. I've been using 7" cut off wheels in it and managed not to burn the barn down. I tried to get a shield for it but no luck so I won't miss trying to cut steel with that beast!
  12. After running to my pals shop everytime I need to cut some steel I've decided to buy a chop saw. Looks like the Evolution S355CPS has good features for price ($379) Of course its made in China..probably no choice there Any opinions?
  13. He was but too cheap to burn diesel...made his son drive up in a Super Duty😎
  14. For sure....Only knock on it ...550,000 miles and 5 spd? So deduct 3g for salvage yd 6 spd. and 12,000 for engine and for 46g better than anything new you would buy.
  15. Same question...looks like a folding stacker of some sort???
  16. Matt...You won't need a body to get it to Lancaster Aug 27,28. And everyone would love to see that "Louisville" frame and the rest of the chassis detail😎
  17. Nice-but they would not do farm pick up with a truck/trailer....or would they..maybe in Mn.farms have big acerage-unlike here in New England where most farms are old and go back to day of milk cans/straight jobs.
  18. With this conversation about WW II, the thought crossed my mind, this generation today should watch the Victory at Sea episodes that are on You Tube. They would learn a lot--in particular when they see all the current news coverage of the "refugees" showing up at our southern border wearing their flip flops, designer jeans and paying attention their cell phones. Watching some of those old episodes they would see what REAL refugees were...and what they were fleeing from.
