  6. I had been looking for 16 years before I found a long nose 9500, a MH 90A 1971, and thrilled to get it for 800.$ . Quite a few short nose and high cab models out there, very few long nose models left. Sometimes scrap price is to much to pay. FW
  7. One of Mike's trucks out early today. In the area they probably have run Macks the longest, and get the longest service life out of them. I have known the Trotto family a long time. FW
  8. I got this one for the drivetrain components, but it was too good to dismantle. I ran the 3406 a little this fall, and a very nice truck. FW
  9. Thanks, gasoline, at one time it had a front loader and someone put chuck wagon wheels on it. I made up a cat 2 3pt hitch, owned this one since 2000. FW

  11. This is me and my 70 grading the driveway at our vacation home in VT (2012) Me and a Ford 2n, the same driveway more than 42 yeas ago, (1970) FW
  12. I remember some had cabs similar to Dodge trucks (41-47), will go through deep powder no problem. All you can see is just the top of the cab. FW
  13. Yes, They provided another job for someone. They operate the pump and hoist. This is my B61SX, when new was one of ten trucks that worked 3-4 years on a Highway project in NY or NJ. Then to a local sand and gravel co. We have owned it since 1982. I am told on the highway job a person other than the driver would open the tailgate and operate the body. I have set up my trucks with "out side controls" as not to mess up the interiors. FW
  14. A friend of mine just got this RD686SX roll-off from Somerville NJ, got to use it to move a few things.
  15. Nice pictures, I like the one with fresh snow, also the traction sanders. FW
  16. Alfred Hitchcock's mini series "Escape to Sononita" . I know of only 7-8 of this model truck that still exist, classic styling for 1950-51. FW
  17. A lot of information, facts, data, and specs. Thanks for sharing. FW
  18. This truck appears to have orignal paint, didn't think the gold was orignal . I am the second owner, V 360, 903 , 13 spd. . I have been told this only did dump trailer work in Delaware and Maryland. This truck has "New Jersey controls", and appx. 150k mi. FW
  19. My 72 R 700 has DD power, never tried to put it in the water to see if it floats, the oil slick might be a bit to much. Boats do need an anchor. I like GM diesels, FW
  20. I don't know if any of these made it to the Mack line or any other truck maker as I have never saw any or heard of them . This is from a 1942 Caterpillar Product line brochure. Interesting. My father, two brothers and I set up a hand set sawmill and powered it with a Cat D 4600 like this from 1969- 1988,We moved the mill and I repowered it with a NH 230 Cummins 1992- present. The good thing about the Cat engines they can run continuesly under full load, and many of this model were found in swing shovels and cranes. etc. That engine was no ball of fire. FW
  21. Check with ; mack mhe9 on here . He should be able to do it for you. Good guy. FW
  22. Yes that 's what I thought. Don't know exactly when but around the early 70's Fiat bought out, or merged with Allis Chalmers, I think their focus was on construction equipment. Buda diesels made it to a small part of the truck market. I have a Buda diesel power unit; inline 6 about 900+ cid. "big Al" and "Alice", that's cool. FW
