    New Pc

Wow,it's so easy for me to post pictures with this new computer,as compared to my old one that is,somebody stop me!
  2. that is excellent.I am especially impressed by the interior,it all looks great though-like they drove it out of the factory and into the deep freeze, and just thawed it out yesterday.
  3. If i've ever done anything to anger you,i'm so sorry!
  4. This PC has been draining my wallet lately-I didn't have a local dial up no.here and my unlimited long distance plan was not supposed to be used for business purposes or internet connection, but of course I was doing it-didn't know I wasn't supposed to until EMBARQ said they were going to cut off my long distance.I called them to get a new plan,so I could still get online, and the best they could do was 10 cents A minute for internet use. When I saw A Hughesnet commercial on TV I called them and told them to come on over.It cost $399.99 up front, then $59.99 A month.Pretty expensive, but way cheaper than the 10 cents A minute the phone co.was charging me.When the man came to install it he said my PC was so old and slow, and the something or other was too small, that I really needed A new one to see any benefit from the Hughes system.I'd been wanting A new one anyway,so I went and got A new Compac with Windows Vista Home Premium.I don't have A clue what that actually means, but it sounds more impressive than my old Windows 98. $698.00,plus tax. Then I call the Hughes guy back, and then he told me my payment covered 25' of trench to bury the cable, anything over 25' would be $2.00 and something A foot.So I asked him where he wanted the trench, and dug it myself to save A few bucks. The pole they put the dish on was $125-I thought maybe it was gold, but it looks like a piece of galvanized steel tubing-and it cost $75 more dollars for them to go in the crawl space to run the cable. But it's all up and running now,and works great! Got my phone bill yesterday-$275!
  5. Welcome,Ravemobile-your English is better than mine's is,so don't worry about that.Glad to meet 'ya!
  6. Hey,Lake Anna, that's over there around Louisa...I was from over around Cumberland, then Appomattox, now Gladys.Picked up a load at the North Anna nuclear power plant once.

my truck at the tractor show. The Dodge beside me and the mixer were pretty much the whole show this year for trucks.

  11. My trip home was very uneventful compared to these trips! I had it towed with a wrecker,i believe it cost either $150 or $175 to tow it about 50 miles. They pulled the axles and towed it from the front, threw the greasy axles up in the cab and I had to put them back in myself.I thought for that kind of money they would at least put the axles back in when they dropped it off,but everyone told me that was pretty much standard procedure and the price wasn't bad either. Turned out it was good they pulled it from the front too-it had them big tires,14.00/20 I think,on the steer axle, recaps in fact, but I wanted to drive it so I took it out on rt.460 and those old tires were so out of round I bent several wheel studs before I got turned around and brought it back to the shop. Had to get some new 10.00/20's and some new studs before I could road test it again.
  12. Bulldog man my brother had an 856 IH,but sold it and A White 2-85 and bought A John Deere to replace the two.Worst part though is he used to have A 350 Farmall and sold it for $800,because he didn't need it and rarely used it.I mean A nice tractor, not A rusty pile of junk.I told him 'I'd have given you $800 for it !" He said "for what, you don't have enough room to turn it around".I said "I know, but I'd still have given you $800 for it!"...I still think about that tractor-if I had that I could drive it in the parade, and if the mixer broke down I could tow it with the tractor,or vice versa!
  13. Thank you Barry, and right back at 'ya-I haven't left my yard all day, cooked some chicken, ribs, and thin sliced marinated london broil on the grill today, and I wish everybody could have been here and just ate and talked about them old trucks...maybe had A cold beer or two,or three,or more...while remembering what Memorial is all about.
  14. Well,uh... I have...oh,the B-53 mixer and ... well,I guess that's it,I have one.Yes,just the one.
  15. Me too Speed, can't top that. That's the real world right there!
  16. I think I can Speed,I haven't checked into it yet,but I feel pretty sure I could do that for way less than $150
  17. Man,that's some nice radios and equipment there! I used to run A 150 Texas Star and a Cobra 25,best talking radio I ever had.Now I just run a 29 that's been peaked up a little bit,but no fire in the wire.I can probably hear you talking up here in Va,but don't worry,I can't get back to 'ya!
  18. yes I bypassed the secondary, still going thru the primary-I wouldn't run it with no filter at all! Did finally locate another secondary and canister though-for $150 dollars.Think I'll let them keep it. Larry Wales has owned and operated his trucks for over 50 years ,including LJ and B-model Macks in Massachusets before he moved to Va,where he had Cummins engines. He first suggested we bypass the secondary, after no parts to fix it could be found.I still called the knowledgeable folks at Watts Mack to get their opinion and they said the same thing as Terry-shouldn't be a problem with the one filter.( key word-shouldn't).Anyway,the point I was making was what started out to be a simple filter change just went to-well,Murphy's law kicked in and about everything that could go wrong on one project in one day did. When I said"what else..."I was just trying to make a joke of it,'ya know?....no?....oh...never mind then.
  19. I've driven A couple of Freightliners in my time along with IHs,Macks,KWs,and Peterbilts. The first was A classic XL flat top,the other was A mid-roof.Both rode and drove as good as any other truck I've driven, and I had little or no down time with either of them. The flattop had an N-14 Cummins 460,the mid-roof had A 475 Cat.All in what you order I guess, they were both left lane trucks.
  20. Hmmm...hobbies,yeah,I remember those-I had bikes, got a 360 Honda as my first vehicle, sold it,bought A 500 Honda, sold it and bought A 750 Kawasaki, traded it in on A 1000 Kawasaki (absolutely an awesome piece of machinery I must say),dabbled in drag racing with my street cars, had A warmed up '72 350 Nova and A '70 Chevelle SS with all the goodies, then later I got into mud bogging with A Chevy powered International Scout, sold all that and bought A '65 Mack cement mixer...huh? Anyway,I'm too old to fool with all that other stuff and just like to look at my old Mack and drive it sometimes and go to antique truck shows when I can. I do have a beagle named"other dog".Seems like the older I get the harder I have to work, and it's hard to get A day off anymore to do anything.I even remember fishing...
