Sweet unit! relatively stock looking is the alt factory ? been thinking on doing an Alt on my Davey brown!

long ago in the V8 era We would save back out of warranty cam and lifters !I found out they were placing claims on engines that hadn't failed that were still under warranty so they could extend warranty to some guys that needed to get out of a jam! Noble in a way but still thievery on the dealers part! Stealing from the warranty program to have a happy customer ! Maybe kind of a win for everyone in a round about way!

I have a sugestion Maybe try runing some fuel conditioner like Howes or Standyne lubricity formula for a bit see if this changes your situation!

Possibly judging by the come back leaks ect just wam bam thank you man ! Didn’t check their work just horse shit! Done now attitude!

There are shit loads stuff you need to clean and check after an egr cooler failure Venturi tube dp sensor boost sensor top of the dpf just to name a few was all that done first go around? Or were they just doing one thing at a time!A crack in the head still possible so is injector cups is it still bubbling? And if it’s warranty it’s their problem go higher up ! Long as you’re with in your warranty miles and time it should be on them! Just lasyness!

I personally would go further up the food chain! You need to file a complaint within the mack system!

Throttle lever break over spring is worn replace the lever!

Decent fix see how it holds up ! After looking at it I may have been able to work around working over my shoulders how ever its done! Still got some tiddling on the clam on the left side worn quite heavy, I may tackle that my self at some point!

Thanx Joe ! I passed on this Machine I And got the Case as pictured! I'm just picking it up to day I decided not to take on the bucket repair as I can no longer work over my shoulders and the welding project would have put me in that situation! So I sublet the job to a small welling shop down the road he did a mighty fine job ! 700 bucks well spent didn't hurt my self one bit! picking it up this morning before the traffic gets heavy! post pics in awhile! Next is to pull the boom cyl it has a crack that needs repaired at the anchor end that leaks when in use a bit!

Most people will pay the price for Good work as long as its Good! How ever you can't please all the people all the time! I would rather take my stuff to people with the experience If I can't fix it my self! Example I hate working on power saws! I used to take my saws to Walkers saw in town here! Since the kids took over the business the service is shit ! I took my stil bucking saw in as i was having starting issues I new it was a carb problem so Tryed two new carbs off of amazon china garbage ! One would start the saw run the saw but it would not rev! The other would not run the saw period! got pissed off, I finally took the saw in for them to look at! They had it a week! I went in to pick it up! They told me it was worn out the clutch the saw Was worn out and all the things wrong made it not worth fixing! They waived the look over fee ! SO I took the saw to a competing shop down town told him my story and he phoned me a day later come get your saw its ready! He put a good used carb on it fired right up! Charged me 60 bucks Im a happy camper The saw runs and pulls good even in the big logs now! Pretty Decent for a worn out saw!!!!!! So walkers is now on my shit list after dealing with them for 30 years (I"m done!) the other shop now gets my vote ! again he's a one man opp and takes pride in his ability's to fix things! much like you Joe!

Maybe I just shouldn't have anyone else working on my stuff...but most of what we were having them do was warranty work, so why should I do it? just not worth putting your blood pressure up over as we most of us have said this generation of folks are spoiled and are just there for the paycheck not to do a good job or create a good customer base for their employer! The Rats ass is not given by them!😒

And the spring! Thou usually a physical problem will not thru a code! The wiring is suspect as Joe states ! The Eup its self may be fault ! As a Note! if you do end up changing the Eup you should install the new Cal code eched into the new pump to optimize the run of the Engine! You may have to go to the dealer for this ! If they remember how to do it! This stuff is getting to be dinosaur like ! Just sayin!

My thought is they want to leave the girlie trucks to the Volvo end ! How ever Letting the Volvo end keep the big liter engine and not building a proper truck to pull weight on the Mack end is criminal !They needed to have left the work truck line up to the Mack end! dumped the Volvo Construction end! How ever it don't matter its all garbage anyway ! All vehicles these days whether it be road or off road has an extremely limited life span by design! including equipment talk about saving the environment is just lip service and the general public is blind to it!

Yup Bud ! Even Volvo Gets better with experience! At least for the most part they are willing to evolve! As long as it don't cost them to much! Imagine if they fixed the injector cup issue they could call the engine bullet proof! How ever they wouldn't be able to sell any parts because nothing would fail! as it is stuff runs long enough to get past the warranty period!😁 By this time your trapped! Buy a new truck or by overpriced parts your choice! 😡

Yup buddy! I like them but they a a quite recent interduction to the line! And can't comment on there longevity ! Experience ! I comment on the two piece from experience in my area of the country ! And a former believer!

Yup I agree Paul Some what! That said ! if this are the case Its because you need the proper tools ! I the wear ring drivers are essential in my mind! How ever I still stand by my convictions and promote the other styles of seals Stemco does make the seals with the integral Wiper ring I think they may work ok I haven't enough experience with them to give them the nod ! And yep the breathers There is usually a reason for a failure !

Yup Joe we used to save the known good ECUs for that purpose from wrecks and such we have several there sill I believe ! Its better than pulling the trigger on the parts canon with out really knowing! ECUs aren't cheap!
