  1. 95 E7 350 with 4.42 rears and 330000 miles. Here is another picture
  2. I finally learned how to post pictures of my truck to share with people. I like being a part of this family. Thank you to all the kind people on here so far! Cheers
  3. But are there any pictures of it online? I want mine to look more like a western R and tougher but i guess it looks fine already
  4. Has anyone actually ever replaced the six horizontal looking original grill and put in the grill for the RD from Combs? I will try to post a link http://combscustommf...9183248_std.JPG
  5. I know the superliner hood is not a direct fit to the R model cab and requires a ton of work to make it fit. However, if i have a 95 RD mack with the square headlights and turn signals, can i get a Western style R model hood with the bubble headlights and turn signals to fit? How much work is involved? i like the look of the western style but im determined to have the nicest looking RD style around my area. I know they make a nice style grill for the RD to make it stand out. But could someone answer my original question and let me know if its a waste of time or possibly post a nice picture of an RD for me? im about to put pictures of mine up.
  6. Yeah i guess thats about the only thing to be happy about. I think i forgot to mention that i had the isolator pads done too. I had one axle done on a saturday, then the next saturday had them done and then i wanted to get the trunion bushings done the next saturday and mechanic called and said we have a problem. we took the trunion bushings out and found out that you have cracks in the spring packs and you need to replace them. So now they have it all apart and two days of work im missing and they could of done the isolator pads right there if i had known better. So that was a big waste of time to do the pads when i could of had it all done at once. one of those coulda woulda shoulda things
  7. I got an accurate reading today. It turns out that the pump rebuild did give me more boost and power Pulling a load in 7th gear (the gear just before overdrive) i get 25psi by 1250 then 27 by 1400 then 30 by 1600 and then 31 by 1700 and it just about reaches 32 by 1800 but not quite The specs for the motor and turbo are 350 hp by 1800 rpm and the boost should be anywhere between 24-32 psi. So if 32psi is max and i get 31 by 1700 what kinda horsepower do you think im making??? I was also keeping right up with a nice looking 460 today. Maybe he has the AI electronic program or i dont know but it feels like my truck is quicker than before
  8. I got mine from autometer. Its a z series 0 to 35psi gauge and compliments the other gauges perfectly. Just wire it up and run the vacuum line and drill and tap into the pipe next to the turbo only. Any other spot will cause a fluttery innacurate reading
  9. Talk to Lmackattack. He is very knowledgeable and has experience with this. Maybe he will chime in. Also. OILBURNER how do you get your truck to run at 1900? doesnt it lose power after 1800?
  10. When i had my kingpins done it was about 1500 to 2000 and that included labor and about 1-2 days down time. Too bad i never held onto that truck though
  11. Brad, i used to have an 89 R that was white just like my 95 RD i currently have and i have really been missing the looks of my old truck. UNTIL i saw THIS! That is beautifully done! What grill did you put on it? Is it aftermarket or just a cover? Very nice
  12. Wow, what model is this? Did you put an e7 427 in it? A swap? Also, where did get those mudflaps?
  13. Ahhhh a superliner (jealous)
  14. That is one huge tire on the front, is that a 24.5?
  15. Nice sliding glass window too. I wondered the same question too. I have a 95 RD 688s and my cab looks the same and come to think of it, its the same as my old 87 R 686ST. If i wanted to , could i swap out my RD hood for a superliner hood? How much work is involved in that?
  16. I am not sure where to post this but i just wanted to know if anyone was anywhere close in repair bills as me this year. I bought my truck this year in july and did the brakes(s cams, bushings, pads, drums) Trunion bushings, new 44k spring packs, drivetrain yoke, new injectors, pump rebuild, spring hangar on front (failed safety test for being a hair off , trailer brakes, new lower exhaust, couple wheel seals, ran out of fuel because i discovered the fuel supply tube isnt down far enough (runs out when it has 10 gallons left) etc etc. Im at 19000 so far NINETEEN THOUSAND!!!!!!! my last truck i would have to do about 7k in repairs a year on it which i thought was about normal. i got out of trucking and it bit me hard this year, but i learned a lot along the way and i hope i only spend about 5k or less next year now. I mean , everything is practically new now. only thing i can do is a NEW HEAD lol Lets hear your numbers, make me feel better please
  17. Wow, what a list! I wonder why i got into trucking too, but i guess deep down inside we like these little projects because in the end it makes our truck feel new again
  18. So i just took the intercooler pipe off just before the turbo and drilled and tapped a fitting into it, got a 16 ft line from VDO hooked it all back up and PRESTO. smooth boost all the way through 28 psi is still about what she does and close to 30 when loaded on occasions.
  19. Mike, it means you need to get another gauge to take the spot Do you have a boost gauge?
  20. I think i know why it does the flutter now. The line is too short and its right next to the intake manifold where pulses and vibrations occur giving it an inaccurate reading. I am going to lenthen the hose first and see if it takes care of the problem and if it does not, then i will just have to drill and tap into one of the intercooler lines. How does this sound?
  21. which e7 runs quicker? how much different is that turbo? did you have to get new injectors and rework your pump to do that? i havent seen over 29-30 on mine yet
  22. So what is everyone else boosting and by what rpm? I get 27 by 1400rpm in a e 350 mechanical 442 rears
  23. So here is what i noticed today. It seems faster up hills. I don't think i've seen any increase in boost at all though. I just notice that it has more power from a dead stop than before. Full boost comes on at 1400 rpm It shows 25-27psi at 1400. i have no idea what it really is because the gauge is so sensitive or i need to fix the orifice fitting or get one of those things called a snubber so the gauge doesnt flutter so much. I honestly don't know why i havent seen over 30 psi. it was doing the same boost amount before i took it in but it feels healthier and quicker to me and blows a little smoke now so i don't know what to think. The specs for the truck are to get anywhere from 24-32psi so i guess i shouldnt complain. There is a hill i normally go up for a certain job and by the time i take off at a stoplight and go up the hill i would be at 37mph and drop down to 35 and now i get to 40 and drop down to 37 so there is my only proof of improvement. I was working with a 427 all day and we seemed about the same depending on who got stuck at a light. does anyone know why the boost gauge would keep fluttering though? I took a video of it too if anyone (lmackattack) can tell me how to post it i would be happy to share it.
