  1. I just called the safety lane and they verified that its fine and technically its supposed to be all amber for a turn signal in front but its not illegal.
  2. i found dual amber ! http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=BRCS/PROD/TSLITS/UP39777 so you are saying its illegal to have led amber in front? i need to show red when braking? i dont show that as of how my current setup even is so i would assume it wouldnt be a problem
  3. Brad did you get amber on both sides? that is what I am looking but alll I'm finding is Amber slash red or if I do find to Amber's it's got the circular LED display I prefer the square LED display in all amber
  4. Well, i called the chrome depot in ohio like you said to do. 36.05 later and im done
  5. Is this the bugshield that is specifically designed for an RD with the sloped hood? Do i even have a sloped hood? The description says its for a late model RD and i just wanted to get the right one. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_45&products_id=248&zenid=38247c2d1601ba827bf538439cdd9673 Also there is this other company that swears they make the best bugshields designed to fit your truck. anyone heard of them? http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/armadillobugshields/the-Mack-Commercial-Trucks/Categories Which bugshield do i choose on that site if i went that way?
  6. or this one. http://stores.45chromeshop.com/-strse-994/38756B-DRIVER-DBLE-FACE/Detail.bok?category=Lighting%3ALED+Stop%2FTurn%2FTail+Lights I obviously have no clue, and i can't even find a website that has an extensive list of turn signals so i give up for a lil bit
  7. What do you all think of this one? http://www.uatparts.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=uatparts&Product_Code=TLED-SDFL3&Category_Code=TRUX going on this truck.
  8. As the topic states, I am switching my turn signals on my RD, They are the square looking ones with dual post. Basically i want to know what your opinion is on these. LED or just the regular. In my opinion the LED looks too bubbly and far out for the style of truck. I was thinking of just going with the regular ones but with the chome on top and sides. Here are some pics. I think this one is neat because of the chrome on top but im not a fan of seeing everyone putting red in the front of you. I like amber, its soothing to look at Notice how you can see my plain jane one to the right side? I think its overkill
  9. I agree with you entirely on that one. I have never seen a mack R with the speedo and tach covers with visors so i was just wondering. All the pics i see don't have visors so that must be the best non cheesiest way to do it, but i was thinking of trying it though until now. Nor have i seen a mixture of regular covers except for where the pyro and fuel are on the top, thought it might look neat to offset it though. what do you think?
  10. One last question, What looks better in a R model? gauge covers WITH visors or WITHOUT? I see kenworths with visors all the time and they look cool. i guess its just preference though
  11. So i just went into the garage where my dads 96 379 pete is and my R is sitting. I sat in both interiors and took measurements, it appears that the tach and speedo are exact at about 3.75 inches and the regular gauges are 2.6 inches. So i guess i could basically just order any covers fitted for a 379 too than huh? Oh and Trent, this is before i just read your post. OH and one a side note, i liked my interior better than my dads, The R just fits like a glove you know
  12. Should i just use this site and be done with it? http://www.uapac.com/trucks/interior-products/dash-accessories/gauge-accessories.html
  13. Okay, so i was thinking today is the day! i wanted to order my gauge covers. I really appreciate all the help you guys have given me, however i'm still confused lol. Trent showed me exactly what gauges and part number to order from united pacific which is helpful. Others have said go to iowa 80 .com and look for the old peterbilt gauges and order those. There are 32 options on there though. Im not sure to order them piece by piece and what year model. 379? What size should i get for the tach and speedo? Also has anyone done the normal guage covers and then the guages that are top most get the covers with visors over them? I haul gravel and i hate dust all over the place lol. But, im ready to order these and i need some advice / counsel once again before making a purchase. Thanks again
  14. I noticed in the interior pics that it looks like they modified it and made the radio accessible where the guages are . Is that stock?
  15. My dad calls that company Harrys Murder Service because a lot of the their drivers were known for being gear bangers and getting in accidents lol
  16. So sat. radio is basically a subscription and it is hooked up through the aux ports. Its as simple as that? Do i need to get a special antennae and take off the headliner and run the wire up through the cab and do any drilling? Ideally what i would want my setup to be is to have sat. radio and then when i am not using it i would use my android and stream music and have that hooked up through the aux port. I would like to replace the speakers with either the same size or maybe a 6.5 inch but not sure if it would fit. I did this in my old 87 R . went from 5 1/4 to 6 1/2 but on the old truck there was no Mack grill that went over the speakers. So maybe i could still make it work. Then if i could i would like to get a kicker bass box that goes under the passenger seat but i am not sure if it would even do enough. Does this all sound doeable to you? Thank you for your help so far. This is what i am looking at so far but i would like more opinions or choices. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_522JHD3620/Jensen-Heavy-Duty-JHD3620.html?tp=5684 And here is what i found for the bass box that i think would be sweet under my passenger seat or even mounted right behind the driver seat http://www.kicker.com/Hideaway
  17. Just wondering if any of you guys in R models are running satellite radio and how hard is it to hook up? I am looking at getting a new headunit. The things i need it to have are the aux port on front, and 3 preouts . I was thinknig of hooking up a subwoofer/bassbox under the passenger seat area of my R. Has anyone done this or know where i can get pictures?
  18. well i could use diesel if that is better. i have seen some guys do that
  19. So i went to use it this morning and the hose attatchment was frozen. i had to take it inside and let the hose sit in the bathtub with warm water lol. 5 mins later hooked her back up. sprayed it all down, not one thing got stuck in the box today I got home and made the solution even stronger and sprayed for a few mins to hopefully prevent the hose from freezing. Before i put it away i relieved all the pressure too
  20. So i have to work tomorrow and i am i the dump business. I knew that i was going to need a hudson sprayer or some sort of sprayer so i go out to farm and fleet and buy a hudson sprayer. I spent forever trying to figure out how to install it. Even went on youtube. Then after careful examination i was missing a vital part. I then went to menards and bought an offbrand Chapin i think. I get it home and its allready installed just put the top on and go. That was easy wasnt it? So i go in the garage and i proceed to mix a gallon of water with a bunch of cups full of calcium chloride flakes i bought last year and i mixed it with a painting stick used to stir paint, got the mixture good to go, put the sprayer in a 2-3 gallon bucket, attatched bungee cords , leaving it all outside and i hope to have a great day tomorrow I used to use vegetable oil, vegetable spray etc . Took me three years to get the picture lol
  21. Is there a kit for this headlight that can go on my R which already has square headlights?
