  1. Welcome and congratulations! That's a very nice find.
  2. Q: "What happened to the guy that had this job before me?' A: "He...uh...stepped out and never came back."
  3. Is that a Cat? I thought they made boots?
  4. It's gonna be great to see another restored F model. There's not many of them out there.
  5. Beautiful! The colors work great together.
  6. Nice catch on the fly! The dog on the driver's mirror must be hiding something. He won't even look the other one in the eye.
  7. He must have a shitty outlook 'cause I think I see a pair of eyes back 'ere.
  8. Especially at a time when the demand for that type of equipment has been increasing as a result of Marcellus Shale drilling and the like.
  9. I was unaware of how bad the problems were until reading this thread. I wonder if the root of the problem was the lack of "truck people" on the Board of Directors for so many years.
  10. My purchases are fewer and smaller compared to most of you but I always check McMaster-Carr first, ever since I learned that Grainger wasn't the only game in town for the hard to find stuff. Pitt Ohio handles a lot of freight for both suppliers and when you have either on your truck, it's in your best interest to get it delivered. I once delivered a snow blower at 10:30 am that was ordered just before 4:30 the day before through McMaster. The guy literally looked as if he was turning pale and about to faint. I guess he'd never dealt with them before.
  11. Your computer might be equipped with a Cummins spellchecker. They all do that. Every time I try to type my zip code it "corrects" it to NH220.
  12. I'd seen that but didn't realize it was more common on a B67. Why did some find it necessary to do that?
  13. This thread is worthy of more than just a smiley. Lots of great info and viewpoints being exchanged here.
  14. I was thinking the 773's would have the highest production numbers outside of the Mack powered models.
  15. Is this a donor cab for the blue one in your avatar?
  16. This is definitely going to bring out the Billy Little Rigger attitude in some folks. As if steering clear of the once a year RVer's wasn't enough. On an unrelated note: Anyone know if Ford plans on re-releasing the Ranger for the girlie men like myself?
  17. A bit bigger than a Cummins and slightly smaller than a Cat. It would've killed those two. Any record of what kind of numbers it was putting out?
  18. Nice work. I'm sure it will be quite a looker when it's finished. Judging by the stripes it must've been pretty sharp back in the day.
  19. You should've taken her keys. She was in no condition to drive.
  20. I don't think it looks bad but my personal preference on older Macks is a single stack with a muffler.
  21. Dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants and it's them those are good for you! Peanut M&M's have been a favorite of mine for as long as I have had teeth and was rather pleased when they introduced the dark chocolate option. They were fairly common at first but are hard to find, but they do still make them. The "US 48" designation seem to pop-up when a number needs to be assigned to a road with hills in the mountains of the eastern US. It was the original name of I-68. I just checked it out 48 Google Earth. It's amazing how travel through that region has been made easier, especially for trucks, and you still get to keep the scenery.
  22. "Superior" on the door of the B-81 pretty much sums it up.
  23. An axe, LOL. We got a dusting but my car doesn't need to move until tomorrow night, so I'll leave the jaws of life on the shelf for now. Over here we have a high of 43 today with high's in the 50's and low's in the upper 30's the rest of the week. Maybe....just maybe.......
  24. WHAT?!!! Okay, we can drop the two-stick comment. The guy is still a class act and is setting a great example for anyone who wants to take the initiative to do it right. Like Jay said, he deserves a smile, a wave, a handshake, something to acknowledge that those of us who come from a time when this was "the norm", even on construction trucks, appreciate the trip back in time.
