Now you know why the use of the word tranny raised some eyebrows. To anyone with knowledge of motor vehicles, a tranny is a transmission. To everyone else, it's a transvestite. I still call it a tranny.

I found one source that shows an 8V92 as the original engine. What year is it? I think the 92's came out in '75 or '76.

I gonna guess but will not be responsible for inaccurate information A 5 speed direct in 1975 should be a TRL 1076 or 1078. I'm not sure what the difference is between the 2, but Mack made a bazillion of them.

mm 0-13 was completed in recent years. I think mm 67-75 is done or close to it. mm 201-226 is underway. A few years ago, they realigned the 2 sections on the hill from the Alleghent Tunnel to the 121 to remove some curves. That was a huge project. -
It's unfortunate that insurance companies can't see beyond the dollar value of a truck with a bad engine. I wish you the best of luck in getting it back into caring hands.
