  1. does anyone have an idea of what the standard total lengh of a G-73 tandem sleeper would be. thanks. j.j.

  3. who else do you think they'll try (i said try) that on ?
  4. better latch on to it rich. a lot of history there. if only she could talk. if you're really interested in it keep the location to yourself cause it'll get snapped up in a heartbeat. good luck. j.j.
  5. cant help with the engine chuck but is that a duplex trans. might be looking for one to put in my LS-85 firewagon behind the 707. j.j.
  6. my goodness. better listen to ol' fuzzy buzzard. better go fetch that ol' factory sleeper! j.j.
  7. chuck. any idea what the updated spring number might be. maybe barry will see this and dig something up. j.j.
  8. thanks for the reply chuck. i had a machine shop make new guides for the valves and he couldn't find any other seals that would work because of the inner spring. real close fit. he thought there might be a problem . i guess i'll have to try and find the original seal set up (good luck) or update the springs. 707 A's are like everything else....harder and harder to find. thanks again . j.j.
  9. has anyone ever used the new style valve seals on a 707. the originals were just an o-ring that fit over the valve stem with an oil deflector that went up near the top of the stem. my problem with the new style is that they're so close to the inner valve spring that it just keeps lifting them up off the guide when it opens and compresses. the seals came from mack (2 different sets from 2 different mack garages but they both came up with the same superceded number) the original set up is long gone. thanks for any advice or help. j.j.
  10. chuck. what engine is in the B-60? maybe 707. what part of CT. are you from. thanks. j.j.
  11. i have a 707-A and our local conquest dealer claims he can get a rebuild kit for that from somewhere in texas for about 750.00. he also said he can get a completet gasket kit for about the same price. e-mail me and i'll give you the name of his company if you want.
  12. welcome aboard. have a 1947 model 85 myself. j.j.
  13. tim. like bob said, see if they are adjustable. you may just have to wind them down a little. you can tell by lookin' at the bottom of the king pin. remember the ol' "sugar shack". i thought i had a bad one and was ready to change it and found out they were adjustable. a whole lot easier. j.j.
  14. put a kitty cat motor in it and you'll only pull 1 of those trailers. when i ran my 500 i was always told to keep the "butress screws" tight and i never had any problems. this probably wasn't your problem but just a thought. j.j.
  15. thanks fifth wheel. the frame is like you say on the fire truck and a lot of "plumbing " in the way for the fire pump that runs along the frame. i will just bolt it in and let it rip. it should run a little easier over the road with the higher ratio. j.j.
  16. hey bulldog man. i agree about the bulldog part but how bout a bowtie instead of a blue oval in the grill. (just kiddin' partner) you have a good un'
  17. was thinking of changing the trans. in my LS-85 fire wagon from the 4speed to a duplex i have in a B-70. both are 707's. in the fire truck the trans. just hangs off of the bellhousing because the back of the engine has motor mounts. on the B-70 the trans has the back mounts. will the duplex hang off of the fire truck bell housing without any problem? i know the MH-613 with an E-9 and 13 double over i had the trans just hung off of the bell. thanks. j.j.
  18. when i still had my truck and was running middle atlantic/northeast i had a guy do mine that did it for a living. he charged me 25.00 a month. i just had to keep track of the miles in each state, fuel purchased and where and my tolls. it was well worth the 25.00 dollars.
