Shipping A Jake Brake

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I have found a jake brake set up in arizona for a 220 cummins, The thing weighs like 200 lbs. with all the stuff that goes with it. I am not in a big hurry for it but I don't want to pay a fortune for these things. I had a auxiliery transmission shipped by fed-ex from indiana to north dakota. It weighed 375 lbs and it cost 400 bucks to ship it by Fed-ex. I would think there is a better solution.

need some help

I've had the best prices using a common carrier like Yellow.

And I've had good luck with UPS - freight service.

Fed-Ex is great, if I'm in a hurry for things at work.

Yellow is my 1st choice, though, for truck stuff,

if I can't find someone with room on a trailer.

Be sure the little parts are all boxed up really well,

and best if the whole thing is on a good pallet too.

I wouldn't think just a Jake assy. would be that heavy but I don't know, never seen one for a Cummins.

Email me the address of origin, I get good rates on shipping, (thanks to family).

Fred,

I'm thinking the whole thing would be 100 lbs or less.

The jake cages and spacers are all you need.

Rocker arms and such are not needed as I remember.

The rocker arms are the same, valve covers are the same, etc.

Ya, don't use an expidited type carrier. A nice solid wood box and drop it off at Yellow or the like and you shouldn't pay much for it. I ship stuff like that out from work, but luckily we get discounted rates.
