Question about heated mirrors

Recommended Posts

My Superliner 1 has heated mirrors, but they are pretty ugly, glass too, but the elements are still good and work

Is it possible to swap over the elements(etc) into non-heated mirrors? Found a beautiful set, but they aren't heated..

Don't have access to any to compare in my hands

(I'm talking about the bulldog mirrors)

Thanks

The heated mirrors On my IHC had a heater grid that had an adhesive on the back, it was a single use, and I don't think you can peal it off the old and get it to stick to the new. That is if you could get it off in one piece.

I would see if replacement grids are available. Long time ago they were for my IHC's I doubt they are still sold that way anymore, Likely have to buy the whole mirror.

I have opened heated Bulldog mirror apart once or twice. Don't remember seeing any separatable heating elements. As I remember the heater was glued up to the back side of the glass or integrated another way.

heated mirrors are nice in fog, or when you drive through different temp and moisture zones.

here in New Jersey it is not strange to be driving in sunny cool, than drop into a valley where it is cloudy or foggy and moist. instant no see out of mirrors.
they also work real good when someone slashes a bit of water up, the heat dries them out quickly.

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..
