Pusher axle

I bought a used pusher axle. In checking things out I noticed the quick release valve to the brake chambers had two small  lines on some type of object on the intake side. Just wonder what the were for.

That may be a valve for when your axle is lifted the brakes won't apply. I cant remember whT mine looked like but I had one on a truck before.

If I understand this when you apply the brakes the axle would lift once the pressure was removed from the air bags. It has air up and down upon looking at it. I  am new to this. . Just trying to figure things out. Thanks.

I'm clueless, but someone once told me peterbilt triaxles are typically set up that when you set the parking brake the lift axle comes up?  No idea if that's true/common setup or not.  No Mack I ever drove did that.

Yes we have one set up like that where I work. .  2005.    the 1998 isn’t set up that way
