Longest confirmed sniper kill

The movie "Sniper" with Tom Berenger is loosely based on Carlos' life. Most notably the long crawl to take out a VC leader that took three days, as well as the scene where he shoots the enemy sniper though his own scope (essentially coming within a millisecond of his own life).

The sneak on the vc leader was one of he best parts. I saw an interview with Carlos and he said it took 3 days to sneak into position. He said he didn't move until the breeze blew so the grass was moving all around him concealing his moves. He also said he crawled on his side to leave less of a "path" behind him. He also stated that he didn't think he'd live through that mission. He figured once he took out the leader he'd be killed but by some stroke of luck the guards thought the shot came From behind them so they shot up a hillside while he made a stealthy, hasty exit.

The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by the people who vote for a living.

The government can only "give" someone what they first take from another.

Carlo's had 98 confirmed kills but said he has another 200+ when his spotter didn't follow him. He would go in the field for weeks on end. He lost 30 pounds on one foray. His most regrettable was a VC ammo runner about 14 or 15 on a bicycle. Carlo's shot the bike out from under the kid and thought the kid would run away. Unfortunately the kid picked up his AK and loaded a magazine and fired on Carlos. It was ended immediately following that.

We learned the same lesson my dad learned in Bavaria, when his unit ran into a Hitler Youth Werewolf unit of mostly 13 to 16 year old boys.  Lesson being a kid can kill you just as easy as an adult.
