Mack B Mike Posted May 16, 2008 Share Posted May 16, 2008 Hello All, I have recently picked up another B model tractor (this one is drivable) its a 58 B61LT, one thing i noticed is that there is NO fuse panel or breaker panel in the glove box, there is just a flat piece of steel where it would be with wiring mounted to the back of it but no fuses visible, all of the books i have show a fuse panel at the normal location, is this normal did some trucks have them and some not? the guy i bought this from has about 10 B models running condition all with the exception of two do not have fuse panels Mike Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

41chevy Posted November 5, 2014 Share Posted November 5, 2014 The breakers with out reset buttons reset them selves when they cool own. Both types of breakers use a Bi-Metallic strip (like in the old Chevy Chokes). At a specific temperature the Bi-metal strip opens the breakers points to cut power to the circuit. On the "automatic breakers when the Bi-metal strip cools, the points close and the circuit becomes live again. My B61 has a mix of both types of breakers because they have been changed over the years.. Maddog13407 Posted November 6, 2014 Share Posted November 6, 2014 the early B models 53 til around 59 had the glass fuses. from 59 til around 64 they had not resettable circuit breakers and 64 to the end it was a mix and match of resettable ones and non resettable ones.
