auxiliary shaft help on 1999 mr688s

so the air compressor locked up and spun the gear on the auxiliary shaft i used a puller and pulled it off . so can i just press a new gear on or will it fail? if so can the shaft be removed without pulling the front cover off?

Shaft has to be replaced , there is a big nut that holds the shaft in a gear behind the power steering pump on front cover . Remove nut and pull shaft out .

Replace shaft. The shaft can be remove by removing the power steering pump on front timming cover or the plate. Remove the big nut inside and knock the shaft loose from the gear and pull it out the back. Install new shaft back in and retorqe nut.

im trying to get shaft from mack they say its back ordered, there is no power steering on front it bolts to air compressor i had to tear down the whole front to get that big front cover off so i could pull the gear off anybody has a good aftermarket website?

Just needed to remove cover were the power steering would mount on front cover.
