my new mack

howdy new to the site think its great i grew up driving macks from about ten years old and have been in a international for the last 13 years and i fly out to kansas city mo tues to possibly pick up my next mack a 2001 cx613 wondering things to look for such as the expantion tank from plastic to metal any other advice would be appreciated. it has a non wastegated turbo on 460 with a ten spd

Welcome to BMT congrats on getting your Mack , first thing I would do is get a oil analysis done check for coolant in the oil and for coolant leaking into wire harness from low coolant sensor ,check exhaust manifold for cracks and broken studs and charge air cooler leaks.

thank you for your input i have a apointment with the mack dealer in kc when i get there for ecm varifications and oil sample reports will check wire harnes.im in northern utah so my local mack dealer is mountain west truck in slc. any idea on what to expect for mpg its a 460 with 3.73 and a 10 spd

By now, the 2 piece POS radiator should have been replaced. That group of engines were very good. Not much computer control, but more computer monitor. You should get around 6 mpg

well here it is parked next to my 9200 was disapointed to find out when i got to the truck that it has a e7-427 instead of a 460 but not the end of the world everything else checked out so now its mine drove it back to utah and cant wait to put it to work.
