What did "the 151line" mean..always wondered...

Trent, maybe Billyjay can correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the story is that preston was started with a loan of $151.00 to buy their first truck, least that what i've heard........Mark

1979, 300+, 10 speed R-R, Tube Alums in and out, spring ride, power steering, a/c. It drove great, rode nice, pulled the trailer without concern. The drives are weather checked and would need replaced. The truck was a local truck most of its life.

From what I remember when Preston Trucking Co. first began hauling freight back in 1934 at some point they started using the "151 Line" slogan saying that they had 151 pieces of equipment to serve the public. It brings back good memories of the old trucks we drove and thinking about pulling those big 40ft. trailers around town....wow then we got some 42s.....Jim

Looked at this truck before the shopping trip down south, since that trip didn't produce anything the F was picked up this week.

F-model

Nice looking tractor Doug. I'm having a lot of fun with my R-700 but if I ever get another it would probably be an F model.

Nice Doug!!!!

When my Dad worked for Charles E. Danbury many moons ago pulling new trailers (mostly out of the Trailmobile Plant in Lansdale Pa.) he had a single screw Hayward F-Model with a 300/5 speed and a 2-speed rear. Great truck for pulling trailers only. Then later on when he went to freight he bought an Allentown twin screw, I think it was a 300/10 speed. Nice looking truck, will you have it at Macungie????
