Can someone decifer this number I wrote down off of my front axle? I did not see it listed in the axle section from macksrus site.

AX3

3QHF4148P9 3QH4

Thank You

mike

Those are part numbers. Not axle type numbers. The 3QH number is probably for the beam itself. Look around the spring perch to dicipher which steer axle you have. It is probably an FA-505, 507, or something like that.

Yup, if you found those numbers on the right side of axle just outside of the spring perch? Look directly below to see a STAMPED number like "FA-xxx" Might have to look closely, with wire brush and brake cleaner.

Larry,

Before getting into my fuel filter project I scrapped the area were you guys mentioned but had no luck yet. Is this number a embossed or raised number like the others?

Embossed with a hand stamp.

Similar, but opposite. The axle number is on the front side, a tramp stamp on the back side, (at least from what I've seen).

Ill need pictures of said tramp stamps. Ill need a seat cover for the pass. seat in my B that has one. ha ha

Here's what you do: Go to one of those high quality internet porn sites and capture a favorite image, saving to your computer. Take your favorite image to an embroidery establishment and let them have the image digitized for their equipment to use. You can then have your seat covers made any size you like as the ratio/proportion remains the same no matter how the image is manipulated.

Be sure to keep us posted on how you do.

10-4 , ha ha. Ill take a girl with the tramp stamp to sit on my pass. seat. Gotta be easier.

The maintenance costs of the embroidery are MUCH cheaper in the long run.........

mike - i found the number on my front axle if it helps you to locate it. it showed up well after sandblasting and painting.

AJ thanks for the heads up on this matter, im grateful for the help. I believe your truck is clean enough to eat off of. I wish that more people would take photos of their trucks even if the grease is visible that is fine cause it's still a MACK.

Thanks Again!

i have taken a lot of pictures. i hope enough to get the truck back together. i took pics before i took a piece off, thru the process, and after disassembly. things always look different later. and i am not that knowledgable anyways concerning restorations. i transported the frame to our shop this weekend and we should be able to get the motor back in the frame this week. i took a bunch of pics for ya. will post as soon as we get all the pieces back on the engine. aj
