  1. Sounded like it was a a show or competition. I've seen locals doing that with Bobcats. Saw a guy tape a plastic spoon to a Bobcat bucket then pick up an egg and carry it over 50 feet!
  2. Yep I know him. I also know Gordan Crow who has the blue Anglia. I've been laid off since June and have been working a few different EMS jobs.
  3. I agree with Freightrain on the brake/carb cleaner to loosen things up. If you are really concerned about nicks try good old sandpaper. Go slow and keep the paper clean. At East Mfg. we sand out a lot of scratches. They start with 80 grit then work up to a finish with 220 grit. If you use sandpaper it may leave a nice "texture" on your parts to give your new gasket some surface to grip.
  4. I am looking for an apartment in the area. I might go there to do medical clinic at a warehouse. It would need to be low cost so I can send money home to the wife so we can keep up on the mortgage. Not looking forward to it but options are getting slim.
  5. Anybody know about this city . I might have to take a job there. This lay-off has put us in a pickle . I would like to know about apartments that are inexpensive and in a good area.
  6. I remember back in the 70's they were starting "clunker" programs. They didn't work because groups like SEMA were able to curtail or stop most of them. Yes things are better now. I've been behind the old city buses that spewed smoke, cars that looked like skeeter foggers, and trucks that smoked so bad you couldn't see the traffic light that they just went through. We can now eat fish from Lake Erie. The Cuyahoga river hasn't caught fire since then. Fortunately we have learned how to make engines more efficient and cleaner. The big problem lies with people like Nasty Pelosi and Ill Gore who don't think this is good enough and they might have the power to do what they want. Those two people are the biggest hypocrats when it comes to the environment. They can't seem to wrap their brain around the fact that there are more vehicles on the roads now but pollution continues to drop! They just want more, now, and it has gotten to the point of minimal return. I think those two are on a power trip. Carbon credit? Who gets that money? Carbon footprint? How do you measure that one? I'd like to put my size 11 steel toe wrapped in animal hide up Ill Gores methane producer and leave my BOOTPRINT!!!
  7. If it's any what-for my truck has a Magnadyne engine. Does that mean magnet power? I think all the Flathead gas jobs were called Magnadyne. I don't think the OHV gas engines were called anything special.
  8. I had a set of chrome mudflap weights that had Mack cut in them. We've all seen them in catalogs. Same rust issue After a few years the rust was coming from the back and around all the letters. Then it started to peel!!!! Now I put on Mack flaps from Berube's and I made diamond plate aluminum trim parts at work . If I REALLY wanted something chrome I would probaly buy the part then send it out.
  9. I hate to sound like a parrot but try a NAPA store. Look for the oldest guy working there and have the numbers off of the carb ready. I have had great luck with my local store. They are able to get everthing I need for a tune-up. I have purchased two rebuild kits over the years for my Zenith carb. Just my 2 cents. Sometimes people forget about the easy way.
  10. It would be nice if there was a kit. Someone could make tens of dollars in todays money. I've seen different versions of "B" pick-ups. Some were just a cab and front end put on a pick-up chassis. One was actually a narrowed, channeled, and lowered cab with reworked fenders that made it more scale to the 16" wheel/tire setup. Too much sheet metal work for me. The best would be somebody to make a fiberglass cab and fender setup that was the correct scale. That would take a chunk of start-up money and engineering time but would be the coolest thing out there. I would build one on a Dodge chassis. Cummins, 6 speed, 1 ton dually, maybe a 4x4. For a bed I would use the older Dodge step-side bed. They had the fat bubble rear fenders that would go good with "B" lines.
  11. It does kinda resemble the back of a tow hook. But it is a and I could see bolts that size used for a fender bracket
  12. Are you affiliated with a fire department? If not try going to a local station and asking about Waterous. If you tell them what you have they will most likely be real helpfull. I was told that somewhere around Columbus was a fire truck bone yard. I haven't looked into it yet myself.
  13. AW Direct is good . Also try a site called Stobes n More. Third is to try Ebay. Go with the Whelen brand stuff . The might cost a hair more but they are the leaders and replacements are everywhere. Another one is Galls. They have police and fire stuff. The Galls brand strobes are made by Whelen and are usually cheaper. Any local tow truck parts company locally should have them. Ask your local tow company where they get them.
  14. Am I seeing things or does the second picture show the binder chain around the mudflap bracket?
  15. Is this a timed test? I ar not tuu guud at maff buts I got inglich downn guud!!!!
  16. I can't comment on Gulfway Insurance, but I have my truck covered by State Farm. They insure the house, my pick-up, '03 Monte Carlo SS , and my . It might be worth the call to your regular insurance agent to see if they have coverage. You might qualify for a discount for multiple policies. I can pull a trailer as long as it is my trailer and anything on or in the trailer is mine also. I can pretty much do what I want as long as it is personal use. I do have an Ohio historic plate on 'cause I don't do that much with the 'ol girl.
  17. From the album: Old iron

Chrysler turbine experiment on an M series truck!
