  1. ebay has one for yah, might be an upgraded model though.
  2. if the fuel is right to the top the filter is clogged, change it at every oil change. I do every 10 to 12 k at most. chances are it's air leaking and and letting fuel go back. I had it happen a few times. Once I just tightened the bowl once I had to change the rubber O ring. Clean it good in the slot.
  3. air is leaking around the bottom of the inverted glass/plastc bowl over the fuel filter, check to see if it looks real low or empty after sitting over night before cranking.
  4. OK!!!! I'm back. Had to go look at some of "Other Dogs" pictures of the babes he meets on the road, after lookin at that Mack picture I thought I might have gone mackvestite or something,I'm ok now!! Still like Other Dogs pics but what a beautifull truck.
  5. 1,800,000 killeed, texting or on the phonewhile driving, this seems to be the real killer.
  6. pressure test the charge air cooler, that will kill your power,if leaking, they are known to crack, it will make boost slow and surging, make poor fuel milage.any codes?
  7. I think she did her best to try to take him out, maybe it's time to trade up to a 44 mag?
  8. A non running 3406 and a 13 spd fuller is worth what he is asking slpwlker could use one, at least the crank.
  9. A kid tries to blackmale or rob a trucker, he calls for backup and got plenty, he's gunna be sore for a while and walking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwJ-4qjfmKc
  10. I go through Blytheville alot, next trip north I'll post to see if anybody has anything coming north. Had 22 feet of deck left last trip with 6k on board.Almost posted "space available" Larado Tx. to Maine. I drove one of those a long long time ago. New Orleans to Covington to Baton Rouge La.
  11. This is the first time since I have owned the truck where I can drive it for a few miles and no code pops up. I was in San Antonio and went to the border at Eagle Pass to get a tall load. The ecm/vgt code went off a dozen times, usually it goes off and all is well, lately, at times I have to pull over, shut it down and restart and it's fine. This time I had to pull over 8 or 10 times and sometimes it didn't work the first time. I got the load and thought this is going to be hell getting back to San antonio for repairs, "IF" I make it. Made it all the way to Greensboro NC to my favorite Mack dealer, real pro's no parts changers. 100 miles before I got there, getting off a ramp if I held the brake the air would drop to near buzzer area, so made a new problem on the way. Made it to NC, here is what they found,"AIR LEAK" I had picked up a rag or something on the driveshaft and it had slapped two air lines so long it wore a hole in one and near through on the other, he showed me the shiny spot on the U joint where the rag was, I remember it was a torn up soffa cushion, I missed the soffa and the first cushion but got the second. Great detective work. "VGT CODE" someone in the past had taken off the small oil air seperator filter that is in place at the rear of the drivers side engine, more great detective work,it filters the oil out of the air before it goes to the vgt sensor controll that is mounted on the firewall under the stearing colume. The sensor was going wild because of oil. They installed a new filter system and a new vgt controller. "LACK OF POWER" You are allowed a five pound loss of pessure in the charge air cooler in 15 seconds pumped to 32lbs, I lost 32 lbs in 5 seconds, the charge air cooler was cracked down the side, they replaced that, called Mack for all the updated down loads including 12b. No codes, she pulls for the first time and runs soooo smooth!! Milage is way up and still climbing. They did the heads for me when I lost them because my local Mack Garage set the valves too tight. Highly recomended, Transource, 8700 Triad Drive Greensboro, NC Jeff for a mechanic and the fella that has been there for 35 years for computer power related stuff. If you need service in the area, they hav a tv room, laundry, showers, and will shuttle you anywhere for free, even out for barbecue. They aren't fast, but are precise, not cheap but you only pay once.
  12. Cats are known for breaking cranks when they get the big miles on them, an old balancer doesn't help.
  13. Take it to a Cat dealer that you trust. have them rebuild it, everything, water pump oil cooler heads, air comressor, balancer, they get 25k for a complete reman and it comes with a five year unlimited milage warranty.Throw in a new clutch and get back to work.
  14. http://www.discountramps.com/step-deck-trailer-ramps.htm Discount ramps .com, if they don't have it they will build it, I've heard nothing but good, they build rugged but light.
  15. Congrats!!! I gave it a try once or twice.
  16. Looks like the spare might fold down and the whole ass end slides in so it looks normal with a push of a button. Just a guess.
  17. Glad to see you made it home safe. Nasty looking weather. Hope the trailer works out for you. Great pics, thanks,Mark
  18. Update: The exit side of the egr was black mud, Mack wanted $2009.00 +tax for one. Got one brand new in Mack box, next day air on Ebay, 1150. my problem started as another poster stated, when I lost the upper radiator hose. The temp guage didn't peg but it was hot. This egr thing has been a lingering thing since then. I guess the cold weather really made it show up. The leaks I was seing on the ground in the am was from rubber water lines cooling down at night and letting pressure and antifreze out. Every hose and clamp on the truck is now new. Had to put in a new Perometer sensor since it would work just long enough, then stop and set off a code and buzzer. That damn dash computer, but I suppose it alerts you early, just drives me nuts. Then again, if we didn't have ecm's egr's vgt's there wouldn't be need for the crap. On the road again Sunday night. Going where the weather suits my clothes.
  19. Not elegal to sell it, nor buy it, what you get is another story. Sounds like alot of easy money for someone. Stay legal, drive safe and don't worry about dot, they are anywhere at any moment, no one can tell you any better then a cb radio.
  20. I've never trusted post cards, but, hey, thats just me!! I'm sure, "wish you were here" has no underlying intentions, but I still shudder when a post card is in my mail box. Oh god, I hope I don't have those nightmares again.
  21. Are you are going to Toledo and then up toward Sault St Marie, or over to Chicago and up, if you go toward Chicago, your gps might leed you right into town, mine does, not a good place to be, traffic is always bad. Go further west and hit 39 to 90/39 back to 39 and keep on going to the end of the earth 51, after Stevens point, it's up to you what logging road you take, I sure hope you didn't forget the blowup doll and duct tape, it's dark, cold and lonely up there. good luck.
  22. When you pick up the trailer check it over, wheel seals, lugs, anything that could be left loose at the plant. Check the lights before leaving, new trailers always have something going on that someone missed. Ask if they greased the s cams and adjusters and checked the adjustment. Be carefull, no hurry, single axle, no load and snow!!!
  23. I was asked by dot in a class one inspection to keep a more thorough description of my day in the log, SO.... this was my next days log when my girlfriend was riding with me. I Was hoping to get another log book check, but it never came about, I wanted to see the reaction and then explain why the detail.
