  1. 2005 cxn the odometer is top center on it's own, not on the speedo as in the older trucks, there are two buttons on the dash either side of the steering wheel do these have anything to do with changing it km to mi, or do you do it through the computer on the dash or is it a Mack laptop thing or do you have to change the complete dash $500.00+ Thanks
  2. Beautifull trucks and trailer. Listen to the Superliner. Have you ever seen a Volvo truck show, or vintage Volvo clubs? Maybe Volvo should see what they have in Mack and get their act together.
  3. That was the last of the best, when they went with that big chrome grill was my favorite year. Shortly after, the new design came out.
  4. Those are a tough motor, I wonder how many are still out there working. I bit of trivia, did you know the shed style roof was first designed for a garage to store a U model in. Yep, thats right, a shallower angle roof would clear the passanger side where it was off set and the steep sided roof/wall end would catch the the truck from flopping over if the driver opened the door too far. Never too old to learn, no sir.
  5. Nice V model in there though, always thought they were one of the finer models, though the maintenace is rather steep on the V models. Sometimes your better off leasing, in this case probably so.
  6. Happy Easter from Maine to all on BMT, light snow today.
  7. check your ride height, chances are it's set too high or low, simple fix but it has to be the right number. Call Mack with your vin number and make sure they know the measurement from where to where. I just spent 8200.00 on rebuilt 18 spd that lead to changing the full clutch assembly, rebuilding the pto. Only to find the Mack dealer measured the ride height wrong. The Pete dealer lowered the ride from 7 to 4 1/8, sound like a new truck. No parts 2 minutes labor. Mine was from the top of the spring perch to the bottom of the frame. (spring perch) the block of steel not the spring, 4 1/8 plus or minus 1/8"
  8. Nice job Vinny, should be an anouncer. Sounds like your learning alot about trucks for someone your age. Some things you said most kids would go WHAT?? Grandpa must know trucks.
  9. A good uncle always has to be up front, I hear Mack tried training wheels but the sales dropped severly.
  10. Rob you are relentless on the boy, (young man)I'm surprised you didn't tell him the truth about the truck, you know thats not a wrecker boom, it's a self righting device.
  11. No just makes it one for the record books, a U model made it to the state line and back without flopping.
  12. I heard that happens with those U models the way they're off set. You can only turn one way or they flop over. Thats why you never see a left directional bulb burnt out in a U model.
  13. Looking good, is that a new cab sitting there? Is the old one that bad?
  14. If you satelite google map the place, Roaring Springs Pa., it takes you right to the quarry. If you look to the south southeast edge there is a yard full of orange trucks, and then go to the south west edge and there are small fields like islands full of equipment. It looks like several companys are located there because of the quarry. I see big cat rock trucks and quarry equipment in one area, a mixer plant in another, a dump truck company in another and others scattered. If anyone needed anything, doors, dash parts, rear ends, heaters, motors even nice aluminum dump bodys this would be the place to check out.
  15. Try Roaring Springs Pa Satelite map google and zoom in, follow the perimeter of the quarry all around. there is alot of iron sitting around. I looked up a number I found on the door 814-729-7777 and it gave me Roaring Springs, google maps took me right to the quarry.
  16. No I just found it on Youtube, thought someone in the Pa. area might find it and give us a report, someone must recognize the orange trucks. I'll be pulling stuff out of Pa. maybe next week or the week after. I could swing in on the way home and load something if it was going northeast and I was empty.
  17. It won't be long now Vinny, BMT will be a forgotten friend, that U model will be set out to pasture and a V model will be all you think of.
  18. Thats a Moose bumper Vinny,(the middle picture) alot of the trucks in the Northeast have them, saves alot of repair when you hit a moose going 65. They still make a mess though. That bottom picture would be a Moose bumper around October if you got caught in that position in the woods by a moose.
  19. Thats the fastest any of those Schneider trucks have ever gone.
  20. spring is here, hope for alot of road work this summer, the last batch of money went a long way to repair around this country. I know,I was permited around it all, but it's worth it. Road work keeps me moving equipment so it trickles down. Good luck out there, be safe.
  21. I bought my truck used in Canada but since it was a 1, made in the U.S. there was no import fee, that was the best number ..1.. I ever had!!!! We will stop here.
