  1. I have one too- Looking it over it should not be a bad job to remove the REPTO and install the standard flywheel housing. Going to be nice having a Eaton 18 in the tractor. Mostly I’m pulling a 55 Ton Fontaine Magnitude Lowboy.
  2. Rochester Diesel has them listed right on there website. I believe Antrim Diesel will have them also. I have bought injectors from Antrim in the past. Good people to work with at the time. I’ve seen others on BMT recommend Rochester.
  3. Yes, will have to lengthen the driveshaft when the new 18 is in. I’ll keep you posted if anything else comes up.
  4. Thanks Jojo. After reading your post I brought my 2001 RD688S dump truck with a 427 and 8Ll in to measure things up and compare. I was initially thinking I needed info from a truck with a eaton 18 in it but- I see that both trucks have the mounts on the transmission bell housing. So I’ll need to make sure the new 18sp comes with the correct transmission bell housing. Other than that the only difference I see is because of the REPTO flywheel housing being about 4.5” longer than a regular flywheel housing, once it’s removed and replaced with the regular flywheel housing, the mounts will need to come ahead. It also looks like the frame side mounts are angled and by switching them left to right and right to left they may bolt in the same spot as the dump truck and line up with the new trans and flywheel bell housing. The transmission side mounts are the same on both trucks.
  5. My truck is a 2000 RD688s Tractor with E7 400 and a Eaton Fuller 14909MLL transmission. My truck also has a REPTO (rear engine power take off). I’m taking the 9LL out along with the REPTO. I have a standard ETech engine bell housing to replace the REPTO engine bell housing. The new transmission will be a RTLO 18918B. My question is about the correct mounts and location. I’m wondering if someone has a RD with a factory Eaton 18sp that would be willing to share the vin so I can source the correct mounts/ transmission bell housing?
  6. I have a REPTO on My 2000 Mack tractor. I’m not using it and I’m wondering if it can be removed from the bell housing? It looks like it has an oil line running from the oil filter housing to it, and with the weak Jake brake, I would prefer not to send any extra oil to it if I don’t have to. Any one have any experience with one?
  7. Thank you mackpro. Hope I can find a shop that can do the software updates. I also hope all the bad reviews of the ac460 engine aren’t as bad as they sound. I don’t need a power house but something reliable that can at least get out of its own way. Can a etech be dropped in just incase things don’t work out with the ac motor?
  8. I’m told the truck has an 18 speed Eaton fuller with 44 arrears and should have a AC460. I’m just curious if it came from the factory that way or if someone has done some changing in between.
  9. Could someone run a vin for me please, 2005 CH 1m1aj07y25n002100 Looking for the basics, Build date, engine, trans, rears ect. Any other relevant info- 12b program? Just bought it but it not here yet, trying to get out in front of it. Thank you.
  10. I have Two 2001 427s, one in a tractor (15sp eaton)with 1.2 million on it and the other in a dump (8ll eaton) with 350k. The tractor was rebuilt at 600k, not sure why. Dump was gone into at 100k because of an oil leak in the block from a casting issue. Tractor currently runs like a top. Was a fleet truck pulling fuel tankers. Dump started life as a milk tanker. Was set up as a dump in 2010. I’m currently putting a new Beau-Roc 17’ dump, new 3 piece trunnion and paint frame and box. There were issues with these motors when new but at this point that should all be worked out for the most part. Pretty dam good engine overall.
  11. Right on! Remember the smell of truck stops? Diesel fumes and hot tube type tires on a summer night. Ahh, the good oll days.
  12. Yes, wired direct. I’m the only driver of the truck. Forgot once or twice, but you do get the hang of it. Wiring the clutch switch in would not be a big deal, throttle is a different story.
  13. My 2001 CH tractor, with a 427 motor- jake will cut out at about 1550 rpm and come back on around 1000 ~ 1100 and stay on till 8, 900. Has all the “upgrades”... I got tired of an intermittent jake and wired it direct off a toggle switch. Jake works perfect. I’m thinking mine must be computer and or electrical. Truck has 1.2 million miles. Almost 40000 hours. Only rebuilt once at 600k.
  14. How is your low end power? My 01 427 is very sluggish... It’s bone stock but I’m thinking.... I have used Antrim to make a little more power on a 96 Mechanical 350 Mack. Injectors and turbo... 42# boost... great power and reliable.
  15. A pallet jack dose a decent job of removing tires and spoke hub/drums as one.
  16. 41- is that using the cam out of the 400 motor or dose the 300 cam somehow have the ability for the straight key way?
  17. Thank you for looking. That is interesting to have the same compression and use the same nozzles. Ill give the parts man a call tomorrow.
  18. My 90 RB has a mechanical E7-300L, 12513 Eaton with 4.64 rears. I have a 91 CH with a mechanical E7-400. My question is could the parts from the 400 (pump, turbo, injectors) be put on the 300 block or are there internal differences like different pistons, compression etc. Would be nice to have more hp and rpm.
  19. How old, any shine left and what make are the rims? I would take the other 6 if not to far away
  20. An ‘01 with less than 500k on a etech 350 mated to an 8ll...? One of the best combos ever. If takin care of even just a little should be good for awhile yet. My 01 ch with a 427 and a 15spd Eaton has 1.2 million in it and was only rebuilt once at 600k. The E-7 is a tough motor. Cams and liner issues are some if any of the “major” concerns. Rebuilding is reasonable when the time comes. And the best part- No emissions.
  21. I’m all Mack. I don’t look at anything newer than 2003. When we can’t keep them running time to close the doors. They haul the same loads time and again. I know it’s not an option for everyone, but for my operation it’s the best way to maximize our money. I feel for everyone running newer equipment that is unreliable.
  22. How’s you’re dad like the section of I88 between Oneonta and Cobleskill? To say it’s rough would be kind!
