  1. What did they do with the Versatile?
  2. I liked seeing your tow bar peeking out under the bumper - at least you could stop the thing. I made one out of a tounge from a horse drawn road grader - good to have around for brakeless trucks
  3. Those middle fingers come in handy - they work like one of otherdog's arrows
  4. I have been saying a little prayer for you guys whenever I hear the word clutch - which has been a lot as I have been cursing one in the shop right now - damn Isuzu - had to order a stupid clutch alignment tool for the crazy splines they used which of course is backordered. If it does not come in soon I am going to go cut a shaft off a used transmission and get this thing out of there. Hope you get home before yours gives up. I am not worried about you, but Ann should not have to walk home!
  5. Funny I see this today - I was reading John Montville's Mack book last night when I went to bed and saw a photo of those - page 113 - used to pull pontoon trailers.
  6. I am still laughing my ass off - I forwarded that to all my farming buddies, and now I am already starting to get it back - you like, went Missouri viral, dude!
  7. Good looking farm truck! I bought a Ford that was in 12 feet of water in the flood of '93 and when I got it home the transmission was cracked from freezing. Does it have a wood or steel floor?
  8. I tried to bid on the NO, but my wife said: NO NO NO NO NO
  9. Greetings! What do you mainly haul and how is the weather up your way?
  10. I will show up if you head to Annapolis - but before I can help - I gotta hit that seafood joint that is upstairs right off the docks, man that is good stuff
  11. I ran into the same problem with the little Ford Escape I bought for my wife - I had planned to drag it home behind trucks, but I can't because it is all wheel drive. Last month I welded an adjustable hitch on the tounge so I can switch between a two inch ball or a pintle hitch. Too many trucks I buy do not have a receiver and only a pintle hitch and sometimes they have a ball just welded on. I also wanted it adjustable so I could use it behind oilfield trucks and things with a real high pintle hitch. I used to use a tow bar on a 1/2 ton pickup, but started using a dolly for the better fuel mileage from a car - damn cars don't have enough bumper to attach a towbar to. My new plan is to buy another one and cut it into pieces and make it so it all pins back together. That way one man can haul it in the truck of a car, put it together, and tow the car home. We'll see............
  12. I have a car dolly you can borrow
  13. Your background choices are good! They don't detract - they add to the photo
  14. Good lookin Pete, but they better hot wrench a hole in the fancy front bumper to slide in some tow hooks so they can pull it with a Mack wrecker ?
  15. Wow - that is a cool one - You had to be a bold SOB to take off in any kind of vehicle across Alaska in 1941. But at least in that thing, I would have felt a good chance to get home.
  16. Hey - Teacher Tom, how did I do? I think I need to work on my arrow drawin'
  17. As always, your point was well expressed and understood! Heh, Heh, he said "mmmmmmmmm...member"
  18. The last triple nickel I saw was in a lime truck and it had a turbo - sounded good in there too. The owner had replaced the crank in it - was that a weak point? I also seem to remember seeing a 555 recently in some construction equipment driving across the block at a Ritchie Bros sale, but I can't remember what it was in. Seems like the auctioneers make a big deal out of it when they see those motors, I think they just like to sound cool saying "tripppppppple Nickkkkkkkel" (I can't do it like they can, let alone spell it the way it sounds!)
  19. So this Sounds like you cut off his future enjoyment! Moderator, O moderator, where art thou? This post is improperly titled! It should now be called " This post WAS full of bull"
  20. I can hook you up with a hair weave place down on Troost Ave., just don't go after dark!
  21. I sent the link for the snowplow truck to a friend that runs a lot of them - this was bad year for plowing around here - did you get to do much?
  22. I knew my typing had vastly improved when I found myself in a power failure typing ebay listings in the dark where I could not see the keys (laptop on battery power). I did fine until I thought about, and then I would choke and mess up. Kind of like shooting trap - see the bird, shoot the bird, follow through the bird - but if you think about it, you miss behind the bird.
  23. I have heard about those older cummins like that and no one can, or wants to remember them at least around here.
  24. I like my cows large framed, gentle, polled(no horns), and soft eyed, with a nice bag I like my wife as she is small (except right now), gentle, polled, and soft eyed, with a nice bag.
  25. Sounds like you lucked out - could have been a lot worse!
