  1. A friend of mine has a 1982 R-700 Mack triaxle dump with a 3406 Cat and 8LL. bad1989gti , You probably remember it when J+R from Pittston ran it with H+k. Owner now runs it with American asphalt. Joe D.
  2. If you only want it for a Hobby Truck I would look for a single axle with 20" or @22" hubs not 24" tube type they are expensive and avaibility is questionable cam brakes.Tandem rears are expensive to rebush and trunion replaced. 673 engines were very reliable I have one and no complaints. 711'S had some issues. 743 Cummins parts are getting scarce 855 Cummins parts OK. V-8 Macks parts are pretty scarce even the newer V-8's. B-61-67 and some other B Models are still reasonably priced if you look around. Some rust issues but do not forget newest one is 45 years old and a lot of them ran in Northeast section of U.S. with winter and road salt rode hard and put away wet.Good Luck. Joe D.
  3. B-421 Macks came with a EN-401 Engine. I do not see a listing for a V-8 gas engine in the B-421 series. Mack put some Chrysler Hemi's in B- Model Fire Truck Chassis. They also put 413 Chryslers in R- Models. Joe D.
  4. John Do they still have Constructor Plate for tandem dumps in New Jersey? I had a heavy tandem working in N.J. in the 1980'S. it was nice to gross 70,000 with no axle weights on a tandem. I think the man I worked for Bill Maddox rents from your Boss.Nice Jersey Iron. Joe D.
  5. Rowdy rebel Your new shovel is whats known as a mad ax. They work well for digging clay out of box. Joe D.
  6. I haul salt for PennDot and Townships. The worst part is not on the paint but the wires. Come spring it is time to replace a lot of connections. I try to keep them sealed but not always successful. Exhaust heat is the best for stone, sand or dirt, but it is notthe best for salt it cakes up in corners You have to be careful when using exhaust heat when hauling coal if you get on a hard pull possible to get it smoking. Try anti-freeze in a sprayer to prevent sticking it works good but is a little expensive. If you springle some salt in floor before loading stone or dirt it works pretty good. Joe D.
  7. Grant With the Budd Wheels there were 10 inner and 10 outer nut to hold Budd (Disc) style wheel on. Also there were left and right hand threads specific to each side these were also called stud piloted. The newer style Motor wheel Hub Piloted use only 10 nuts per wheel same either side. A big improvement over the Budd Wheels. I prefer Dayton ( Spoke ) wheels. Joe D.
  8. joe118800 I found a sales brochure for a H-60ST Mack which was the predecessor to your H-63. It lists an option of aluminum disc wheels. Joe D.
  9. Theakers2 I always heard that Mack had a fire at one of their plants so they started using Budd (N Model) Cab.I heard this story about 30 or more years ago. Do not know if any truth to it. Joe D.
  10. I think it was Budd Company that made the cab for both Ford C Model and Mack N Model. All the Ford C Models did not have a doghouse where the Mack N Models had a large doghouse to cover engine. Ford offered a small fiberglass sleeper option. I have never seen a N Model Mack with a sleeper not to say it wasn't avaible option. Both had heavy options as tandems and double frames. Joe D.
  11. 84Superdog. Fuller also made 2 stick trans for many years they had 5X2, 4X3,5X3,5X4,6X4 all 2 stick trans. A friend of mine had a F-Model Mack with 335 Cummins and 4X4 Spicer trans. 2 stick in it. Joe d.
  12. Packer What kind of shape is cab in on the F-600. Is it a sleeper or daycab? Bad engine is it a 673 or 711 not Cummins is it ? What do you mean by bad interior vandalized? Any pictures ? Thanks Joe D.
  13. ENDT 865 had 325HP. rating @1100 fi. lbs. torque@ 1350 RPM. ENDT 866 had 375 HP. rating@ 2200 RPM. 1040 ft.lbs. @ 1600 RPM. Joe D.
  14. The END 864 had a 255 HP. rating at 2300 RPM639ft.lb. torque @1700 RPM. ENDD 864 had 237 HP @2000RPM 685 ft.lbs. torque @1400 RPM. Joe D.
  15. joe118800 Nice H-Model. What engine 672? Trans. By description and picture it looks as tin is better than most H-Models. Good Luck. Joe D.
  16. Yesterdaystractors.com has a transportation site. It appears as a lot of people are looking to fill out a load. Joe D.
  17. Forgot to add that there was a Superliner on EBay about 2 week,s ago that had a KT 450 in it. I do not remember if it sold or not. Joe D.
  18. R=Models were offered from factory with the Detroit Diesel 12V-71 with 852 cubic inches, not the biggest in cubic inches but close. They were pretty impressive in their day.Nice to see that 12 banger when hood opened. Joe D.
  19. I have a copy of the May 2003 B-Model Registry It goes from a B-50 To B-53 with no models listed in between. Joe D.
  20. Not the biggest Mack ever produced but the largest chain drive Mack but it will put manners on you was at Macungie about 10 years ago. It was an offset L cab owned by Gary Mahan from New Jersey. I have a picture somewhere but cannot post pictures. Joe D.
  21. Try Gulfway Insurance from Bayonet Point,Florida. Joe D.
  22. Did Mack put the Thermodyne hood emblem on Cummins equipped B Models? I always thought it was only for Mack powered trucks. Thanks Joe Ditchkus.
  23. Rob Good Deal you must really be Rob Barker on the price is right. Not a lot of B- Models with turbos let alone a B-67. There was one at our ATCA Show Endless Mountains a few years ago. They really did their homework to fit that turbo in there. Joe Ditchkus.
  24. Anyone remember the Carolina Freight B-67's with 10 speed Roadrangers in them and the cast radiator. There was one near my garage but not there anymore. Joe D.
