  3. I'm leaving on I-80 east bound and gettin' it DONE!!! headed for B61 Freds house with stops, I hope, at Superdog's, Firemacks, Carl Cooks. The fuzzy buzzard's nest, and Mikes wrecking yard in N.J. Got a stop in Maryland to see kids and grandkids! Help!!! IF you see a 35-36 year old stud about 6'3", dark wavy hair, about 220 lbs with a skimpy clad young thing with a large chest - - - CALL THE POLICE!!!!! He just stoled my Wyoming dirt brown Dodge truck with B61 freds' B73 attached!!!!! I Will be the short, round, old, bald guy running be hind, trying to get him stoped! I will be on I-80 to Indianaples and I-70 to the Penn state and on in to see Mike in N.J. Crank up the C.B. and talk to the "Packer" Packer
  4. Looks like $3,000.00 wasn't enough! Oh well - - - I found this R model about 125 miles away - - -? Packer
  5. Lmackattack, Looks like 1400-1600 RPM does it all!! THANKS!!! Packer
  6. With all the info floating around this forum, someone can, off the top of their head, tell me the best RPM or 'sweet spot' to run a 237. I've got an 18 speed Quad and so have lots of gears to play with but no idea of what might be the best crusin' RPM for best economy. Fuel has gotten a little cheaper but still not where a guy would like to see it!!! Packer
  7. Hey Superdog! Nice looking trailer you have behind that wrecker!!! Too bad 'B61Fred' left the decking inn Kanses!!!LMAO Packer
  8. Nope, the pump is under the hood and hoses run up to the unit. (Thad) Nope, the pumps need more than 12 VDC to drive the compressor. Lots of horse power needed to turn that gas back to a liquid. (Kevin)
  9. Some of these had a speedometer in them also. By putting a rubber band at the right place, the graph would read the "correct" speed instead of what the company wanted to see! Packer
  10. That 24.5 rubber was my downfall!!! 10X20 and 18 speed (double over) is 83 mph with 4.17 at 2100 rpm. Packer
  11. To paraphase the old joke, "God created booze so the Aussies wouldn't take over the world"!!! G'day Mate! Packer
  12. Part of the problem is the steering wheel is on the wrong side!!! LMAO The 'O' rings (or what ever those 'Down under' call them) in your Jake may need replacing. If the oil is leaking by the 'O' rings, things don't work well - - - very little braking! A few 'Viton' (these are Hi temp I think, 'Buna' are low temp) O rings, a bent paper clip, and an hour or so might fix you up. Packer
  13. I'm going to make an offer of $3,000 and and see! Thanks Guys!!! Packer
  14. Hey Guys, Just got a line on a: DM600 Econodine 1988 300,000 miles Auto trans 16 foot dump bed (steel) Good body and so-so interior I think the asking price is a little steep at $30,000.00 but don't have a clue! The truck is owned by the company I work for and is up for bid, starting at the above price. Any input on price out there? Might be a good deal (or not) but out here in Wyoming, used trucks are cheap and I think that an 18 year old truck should be much less! Talk to me!!! Packer
  15. That's why the Dynatard is cheap! Superdog swears by his - - - I swear at mine!! Pulled it off and have a Jake to go back on! Packer
  16. Got a Dynatard cheap if you got the cam for it!! Packer
  17. 4.17's should put you about 65 mph, give or take, in direct. Overdrive will be closer to 75 mph. Packer
  18. Try Fuel Injection www.Fuelinjection.net (800) 322-9609 This is in Allentown, PA
  19. Unless the picture is flipped over, those guys are on the wrong side of the road!!! (laffin) Packer
  20. I saw a conversion to spring brakes a while back that seemed to work well with stock Mack brake chambers. The spring cans were mounted to the frame ahead of the front axle and a cable was run from spring brake to slack adjuster. When the springs were set, it would pull the slack adjuster and set the brakes! Sounds kinda funky but worked real well! Packer
  21. "www.tecbrake.com", 800-322-9609. These people fixed me up!!! Sharp people and no run-a-round! Call them or e-mail. They have rebuild kits, adapters, all the stuff a guy might need. And prices were good. Packer
  22. Rick, Tell me more about a 22si and drop that part number for the bracket! My 237 needs a bit more juice than my generator will put out. Does the Alt. have an internal Reg? Thanks, Packer
  23. Told you I was goin' catch hell about STP!! Packer
  24. Superdog, You must have a photographic mind!!!! You leave me nearly speachless at times!!! (The operative word here is 'NEARLY') LOL Keep up the good work! Packer
  25. 80w in the winter, 140w in the summer. Or 85/140 year 'round! If pulling toys around, I think I would stick with 80w-90. Here is a trick I picked up on in the mid 70's. Put in a couple of cans of STP in each gear box or transmission. By actual tests the STP will lower the transmission AND gears by 25 degs. If it's running cooler, it's got to be better on the gears and bearings. Now before I get some flack on STP, let me state that in an engine, it will last until it hits the luberfiner, and I have no use for it in the crankcase except to get a Cummins home with a pulled sleave. Try it , you might like it!!! Packer
