  1. i guess that explains why i like both dodge and women but the funny thing is i cant really aford either one any one want a nagging and whining woman ill send her to you.
  2. its about time you got back on here we were bout to send a search party to find ya
  3. i guess that most of the mack 6 speeds are direct arent they. thats what i will put in it they are the most bullet proof trans that i have ever seen or been around. ive seen drivers abuse them and try to tear one up with no luck.
  4. if something were to happen this guy would give a good notice unlike the last pricks he had the property leased to. and another good thing about him running the operation himself is he can get all the money instead of only part of it. which he deserves hes a really good guy that hasnt forgot where he came from when he got all of his money.
  5. i bet it did and i bet i know who the winner is
  6. right now with the quad box the truck will run about 52/55 mph @1900/2100 with 7.49 rears and 24.5(tall) tires. im prob going to end up putting a 6 speed trans in it because the quad has a very loud whine in it in 4th/5th high split. its prob bearings but no one around here knows how to rebuild them anymore. i know that with 5.88 rears and 12.00/24 tires( which are quiet a bit taller than11.00/24.5 tires) trucks run about the same speed as mine.
  7. update on the truck im not going to sell it after all. a friend of mine contacted me yesterday and wants me to start haulin coal for him on a haul he just got. (same friend that owns the property where i was working when we got the shaft) that will take care of the truck just siting part and the unemployment part. hes even going to help me get on my feet with the tags and insurance (first payment). its not much only about 6 loads a day but it beats unemployment.
  8. the last two GUS I DROVE HAD ALL MACK DRIVETRAIN ONE WAS A MACK 18 SPEED AND THE OTHER A 10 SPEED .
  9. the fire dept that im on has a L8000 ford tanker that we are starting to have problems out of the air system on. the air leaks off in about 4 hrs but we cant find the leak and it takes about about 5-6 min to build up which is a long time if we have a fire im thinking it might be the regulatior what do you think. ive made fittings to put air hose to the tank but it will only air up one side of the system (primary) should this air up both sides if so do any of you know where the check valve should be or if it might be stuck or pluged up. thanks in advance joe
  10. rob you need to make a tax refundable donation to the fire dept that im on as we are in search of a tanker truck. we would take either this one or the superliner that you want.
  11. i was thinking that this is his last year as i was typing. its good to see the old saying stands true. great minds think alike.
  12. happy new year to all and hope that all is better in 2012 than 2011
  13. congrats on finally owning your truck. and a nice couple of extra days off to boot
  14. used to love goin to a hog killin but i havent been to one in a long time. there aint many people left in harlan county that kill there own hogs/cows anymore i know a few over in bledsoe that still do and a couple in lesslie county but thats about it.leversole them vw hoods made for some good sleds the last time i rode one was in the winter of 93/94 when we got all of that snow me and my brother tied one to my papaws 4wheeler and took off down the highway i should of rode the sled first as he dang near killed me after i pissed him off.
  15. do as bigen said thats the best way to find #1. and i hope the firing order is marked on the engine watch which way the rotor button turns when cranking the engine and place wires on.
  16. if i remember it should have a alum fan guard and it should have 6 or 8 bolts holding it on take the bolts out of the top half and you can unbolt the fan and take it out. as far as the cooler i would drain and replace its a lot better to do that than laying/sliding around in it when you take it off and try to replace it. but then your truck might not be setup like the coal trucks we worked on. being that its a tractor.
  17. i agree with everything on this topic i love animals too there very tasty. take a rabbit, squirrel, or a grouse/phessant or however you spell it, some back strap from the deer or a big chunk of the ham with some soup/pinto beans, cornbread, fried taters and onions and you have one great meal. and i guarntee that if some of the pita supporters ate it they would like it too until they found out what it was they were eating. as for the jerkey rob i would send you some but i cant keep the kids out of it. i fixed a whole shoulder last night and i got up this morning and all i got was about 6 or7 pieces the little pricks done went and robbed it last night when i was asleap. im going to try and kill me another or two and if i do ill make some and send you some.
  18. like ron white said you cant fix stupid. but on another note ive got a fresh batch of deer jerkey in the dehydratior that i will say a prayer over and thank god for. the pita folks will be glad to know that a memorial was left where the deer died at its called a gut pile. wonder how many pita members wear fur coats or down filled coats in the winter to stay warm?
  19. im married and dont have either one. but i prob will have better luck getting a working job first.
  20. aint nothing like coal heat. i remember when i was little i would sleep in front of the combustioner stove. leversole would you believe stoker coal is $125.00 a ton here now and thats at bennits and thats the cheapest place.
  21. used to do that all the time but not anymore around here a friend of mine got caught doin it and got fined 3500 dollars for two car tires. the e.p.a. has cracked down here in the last few years with there crap they even wrote some people tickets for ridin 4 wheelers in the creek for muddying up the water and rubing moss from the slick rock bottom.
  22. i hope you have better luck out of the 460 than the last 2 company s that i worked for did the trucks did well on flat ground and down hill but would fall on their face when pulling up hill loaded or empty. it made it a little better if you wound the piss out of them but if the rpms drop below 1600 you better drop about 3 gears or you will have to go to low and start all over. the trucks ranged from 2003 to 2007 in year and the results were the same with all of them. but the ones with the 427s would eat the hills up the ones with the 8speeds were good but with the 18speeds were great. its strange that the two engines were identical except the h.p. but the 427s had twice the pulling power.
