  1. I have the E9 engine kit and the camelback rear suspension to make one of my AMT kits into the correct model, the front frame is something I have to get and the right cab/hood so it doesnt flare out around the cowl, that is sweet.
  2. That is pretty awesome I hope to have my Superliner at Relay for life here this year pulling a step deck used for a stage, I used my CH a few years back I dont see too many trucks being used for things like that anymore too many people worried about liability and old dirty trucks nobody seems to care but Im all for it, nice pic.
  3. I need an RW E9 intercooler connector hose in a bad way, the Mack p/n is45MD331AM, it is a 4.5" intercooler hose that makes about a 30 degree bend and is about 9.5" long on the back side, I have tried Mack they have 0 in stock anywhere and there are no aftermarket hoses available to fit it at this time any help is great. I will also be looking for the other hoses so I have them on hand the p/n's are 45MD 318BM and 45MD411M this truck takes on 318 one 411 and two 331's any body has em get back to me asap I am trying to get this thing to a show in two weeks and Im not going with this hose ripped nearly in two(had duck tape on it when I got it).
  4. I wonder if those will fit, obviously the hood is longer since it has one, and the radiator and intercooler are mounted higher in the RW than the MH, Ill have to dig into that one. I may end up getting some 4.5" u bends and some straight and make my own charge pipes to take straight couplers but I wont get that done by the show on the 29th.
  5. that r makes me think BCR with those hub caps, shutters and the tall breather pipe
  6. I am in bad need of the charge air cooler hoses for my 85 RW613ST with an E9 the Mack p/n for the one thats got the giant hole is 45MD331AM this is a 4" 45 degree elbow charge cooler hose it goes on top at both the intake and turbo sides of the intercooler on a Superliner II with an E9. I need to get all of the hoses I guess but Mack says they are unobtainium right now with 0 on order in the system, the other 2 hose p/n's are 45MD411M thats the one off the turbo its more a 90 degree and 45MD318BM thats the one to the turbo. I have heard from fleetpride that one of their suppliers is going to have them but they have no time frame and I would really like to drive this truck SOON! I will buy em if you got em bonus cash for the whole set in good shape. I have attatched the exploded view and p/n's for other with these trucks, copy it and save it these things come in handy.
  7. Bumper is due in the week, visor too so it will look completely different next week, if they actually do get here.
  8. there are several on Truck Paper and a few of them are great deals in my mind, no cheap V8 trucks though, I think if I get another one I am going for an E6/E7 so I can hot rod the hell out of it and if I burn it up I can actually afford to fix it. http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3781067& I see major potential in this one if I hadnt just bought mine and a house I would go get it in a heart beat, theyre asking $11500 offer $10500 cash and drive it home. I am absolutely sure that if your old lady says it has to go you can clean it up paint the frame and more than double your money on that truck.
  9. I second that, I had a 22' dump trailer that gave me fits to learn and everytime I hooked to the 52' long lowboy then went back to the dump I screwed up and had to learn again, funniest was when me and a buddy just dropped my lowboy and got under our dump trailers then I lead us around town when we got to the crusher he was laughing his ass off about my wide turns said I missed the curb by 30 feet on a couple. and dont get me started on 20' container chassis, what a nightmare, on a sidenote they will make a Superliner on Camelback suspension do a wheely thru an intersection (had a load of marble and fifth wheel was all the way back to clear the landing gear)
  10. I am looking for a good, or new set of Chrome Superliner turn signals, I can get new Gray ones but I want the Chrome since thats what came on my truck I have other Mack parts to trade or Ill pay Cash(paypal) whatever I need turn signals Chrome ones.
  11. Looking at the new vs. old pics it really looks like I have done something, I guess snice I am the one here messing with it I dont see it till I compare pics.
  12. Still got the Synchrovance tag on the cover someone has to need that for a resto.
  13. Oh and get my bumper on and my visor if it gets here the end of the week when scheduled, and put in my new carpet, finish my guage rings, and rest so I can drive up there I am not gonna be done without some help for sure.
  14. New Pics, well I got my polishing done today, I have a number for anyone in TN wanting someone to get theirs done. I have to finish waxing the other side put my badges and some lights back on, mount mudflaps and finish painting the frame and engine in 2 weeks for Cookeville.
  15. I have driven trucks with every engine you can think of and the E9 is by far the strongest puller of any of them, Im not just talking about these new sissy trucks with detroit 12.7's and Mercedes 12l either. I have had a Detroit series 60 500 making more like 550, two N-14's one 460 and one cranked up 525 that rear wheeled 570 now that one did pull good, I had two 475 Cat's, 3-350 Mack's 2-460's all but one 350 ETECH's and a 427 ASET AI and after I went nuts on the guys at Mack about that one pulling like a freakin GEO METRO and STAXXS got ahold of the computer the 427 was a beast it ran away from the 460's on a hill. But I still have to say an E9 440 with a trtxl 107 trans and 4.42 gears is the best pulling truck I have ever sat in and I got 6mpg, you cant do that with a new MP10 and an M-Drive.
  16. I found this set of valve covers look to be in good shape http://www.ebay.com/itm/MACK-ALUMINUM-VALVE-COVERS-B-MODEL-/140850118109?pt=Other_Vehicle_Parts&hash=item20cb523ddd&vxp=mtr
  17. Well Mike I got my new mirrors on today, did a little painting on the frame, removed some old b.s. wiring from light installs in years past, and did some more buffing looks like I should make it to cookeville but the inside wont be presentable. I have a new front carpet that was in the sleeper when I got the truck but no rear and nobody has a rear blue carpet, Im gonna go see an upholstry guy I know here in Murfreesboro to see if he can match it if not I guess Ill get the factory rubber floor for it. I have to get some seats or have these re foamed/covered and fix the wall behind the drivers seat but Ill get her close enough for gov't work for this years show. I have to come so I can win the slow truck race again then Ill have two trophys from two superliners at the same show.
  18. thats the family truckster from one of the original funny movies, where the hell did you find that.
  19. Well believe it or not the first third and 5th trucks I drove had detroits the first two were 6v92 silver's the last was a 60 series, and a whole lot of our railroad maintenance of way equipment has 2 stroke detroits, everything from a 3-53 to an 8v92 which I just swapped in a Plasser ballast stabilizer. actually it was an 8v92 silver I put in it, I have a pic somewhere I think, I have been working on a machine with a 4-53 this week and did some injector work on a 4-71 last month. I have a 6v53 found for a possible pickup truck repower I am playing with in my mind well see if I ever do it. I guess for now my superliner project will keep me busy I have plenty to do there to get it to the ATHS show in Cookeville in two weeks.
  20. I havent been in one of them new fangled HET's I had to deal with the old 2 strokers but they pulled pretty darn good (I guess they should geared to max out at 45 mph) I know that all the G.P. International Armored trucks we had in Iraq were powered by a CAT Acert 475 and an Eaton 18spd autoshift, I drove one once and was not a fan. But I have a pic.
  21. The poor guy didnt know what he was getting into did he? LOL I know we give a bunch of shit to a lot of unsuspecting people on here but most of it is in good fun, ok maybe 20%, okay maybe more like 5% okay maybe its not in good fun. LOL
  22. Where to get a cdl? dont they still sell Cracker Jack's? I got mine with a friends bus, I just memorized the book drove around a little then went to take the test and got a class B then I used a dump truck and backhoe trailer for my class A. I agree with the previous Pre Trip comment, make 100% sure you have it down do it over and over then do it again, your examiner may not have you actually do the pre trip but walk around and tell them what you would be checking for. Never forget the steering and suspension components thats when lots of people lose points, they are not in plain sight but they want to hear you say you are checking for loose, missing or broken spring hangers, springs, shocks etc. dont forget the steering box, drag link, tie rod, brake chambers, slack adjusters and shoes, and the driveline your suppoed to check your u-joints, carrier bearings and driveshaft for loose, missing, broken or damaged components. Most states allow you to take a pre trip book or help guide with you put a star on the page in areas you know you have a lot to remember. ( I used to help train on CDL at Oprlyand Hotel Transportation in Nashville TN) I wish you luck and even if you dont use it much having a CDL will be a blessing when you do need it, and most employers look at it as another qualification to add to your resume showing you took some initiative to get better prepared for what you do before they hired you.
  23. I am at a loss for words but here are some I remember, if your trying to find a detroit follow the oil trail, if you like an engine that sounds like a weedeater on crack get a detroit, If your oil bill is higher than your fuel bill it must be a detroit, your trying to stop the oil leak on your detroit....ha,ha,ha,ha yeh right, good luck with that!
